Monday, July 7, 2008. The work continues - day thirteen. Monday was a quieter day here with more preparations for the next stage of concreting. Here you can see some bricks being delivered - freshly made and still hot! Waiting for a quick hose down before they unload them - steaming! Some locals also brought us some pineapples to eat! Monday, July 7, 2008. The work continues - day twelve. Sunday morning at the worksite:. Glenn and Andrew removing steel supports from out of the sand. Jesus, one of the site managers, directs the other local crew. Notice how they use kids chairs as supports for the wood cutting! Tuesday, July 8, 2008. The work continues - day fourteen. Well during the strike today the streets were a little quieter getting to work - with schools out and not many trucks around. the motor-taxis were still running, so those who didn't walk to the site were able to catch them. Fortunately all the local workers showed up and headed to work with us (from our hotel - they usually meet us on site) so we were able to continue our work today. Just a quick post, remotely from one of the vehicles on the way home (connecting from my laptop through Glenn's mobile) to let you know the biggest crew travelling together has now arrived safely back in Australia, after 38 hours of travel from our hotel in Lima! Thanks for all your prayers for our safe travel, and to the welcoming party who met us at the airport! Well we're stuck in a traffic jam here on the Bruce Hwy, and still have 3G internet. Access, so here are a few photos!
