Chris Locke (aka RageBoy). Funnier than Dave Barry. Can't talk. Laughing. Your blog should come with a warning! Wonderful, quirky, weird. I'd recommend that you visit Expat@Large,. A beacon in a sea of mediocrity. An inspiration to pointless bloggers everywhere. That irreverant sense of balance between the absurb and the important that E@L seems to pull off effortlessly. Expat, you re absolutely lovely. You are so humorist! One of my favorite reads. Certainly deserves a mention. Take a look at E@L. One s...

Top of Mind: August 2005
http://trisha-trisha.blogspot.com/2005_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 28, 2005. Thoughts on Teachers' Day. Before I joined the teaching profession 3 years ago, I used to imagine what Teachers' Day would be like. After clocking many years in the private sector, I can't imagine actually having a day dedicated to your profession. As far as I know, there are only 3 professions in Singapore that have their own day of celebration (nurse, secretary and the vague title Boss) and I did not belong to any of these. Surely some good old fashion decent behaviour in class...

Top of Mind: April 2006
http://trisha-trisha.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 25, 2006. There was this article about Recurring Dreams in the Sunday Times last week. And boy, am I glad to find out that I'm not the only one who has these recurring dreams :. That of being late for exam; and or of not being able to answer the exam paper. This, despite the fact that I have left school for more than 10 years, is quite telling. Singapore is one of the few places where many people are traumatized, to some degrees, by exams. Posted by trisha @ 9:37 PM. Friday, April 14, 2006.

All four kiddie cousins gathered at grandma's as usual for the celebrations. But then, hor, combine four rowdy kids, a camera-phobic baby and a jealous elder sister, and you're going to have seriously few decent photos. Still, Daddy got a good one with the girls:. And got Mommy in for one as well:. The kids participated in seasonal festivities:. And had a blast as usual:.

In the swim of things. what do i see? Tuesday, October 10, 2006. Can Malaysia move on? One may debate the details, but Manu Bhaskaran, an economist whom I admire a lot, cuts to the chase, saying:. What strikes me as surprising are all these old stories. The world is moving on and talking about globalisation, of attracting the best talent - and Malaysia is still obsessing about the ethnic division of spoils.'. On the realities of racial politics, he goes on to say:. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

http://whalesharkchronicles.blogspot.com/2006/09/voice-accountability-in-singapore.html
In the swim of things. what do i see? Sunday, September 17, 2006. Voice and accountability in Singapore lowest in 10 years. The World Bank defines voice and accountability as the extent to which a country’s citizens are able to participate in selecting their government, as well as freedom of expression, freedom of association, and free media. I'm still digging into the World Bank's comprehensive website on the survey. Look at South Korea! Do we want to be like them? We do want to be like them! Voice and ...

In the swim of things. what do i see? Thursday, October 26, 2006. Science lesson for the Straits Times. See today's Straits Times, page H1. Krist, a whale shark is NOT a marine mammal.
