Puako is home to many diverse coral reefs and associated species. It is also a popular site for visitors and so it's use must be managed with care. This can be done via state and federally enforced regulations, as well as increasing the awareness of those people enjoying the marine resources of the area. For spending some time to learn about the marine life in Puako and what you can do to prevent damage to these fragile ecosystems.
