Plant of the Month. I believe spring is here! A bit earlier than usual but with the spring equinox coming up it’s time to start planning for the gardening season. Registration is complete and all 9 gardens are full with waitlists growing Welcome to the new gardeners! The Gardens are officially opened on March 15th and I have scheduled some repair/construction work to be done over the next couple of weeks. Your garden will be notified separately as to work scheduled. West Riverside Park- April 23rd 3pm-5pm.

Plant of the Month. Plant of the Month. Rhubarb is a perennial vegetable plant growing from thick rhizomes. This cool-season plant is native of Siberia, and is popular in many parts of Europe and North America as pie plant . Although technically it is a vegetable it is used as fruit in desserts, Pies and jams. We eat only stalks which have rich tart flavor. Leaves of this plant are poisonous so make sure leaves are not ingested. Health benefits of Rhubarb. Before planting, eliminate all perennial weeds.
