More substantial accommodation is located 35 minutes to the south in Calistoga, CA and 25 minutes to the north in Clear Lake, CA. Camping is available at no additional cost and is a great way to enjoy the weekend to its fullest. We highly encourage camping the night before the event (Friday, October 29th). Boggs Mountain Trail Races. 124; Comments RSS. Posted on April 4, 2010. Thanks to the volunteers, participants, sponsors, and Cal Fire for making the inaugural Boggs Mountain Trail Races a success! Brian Lucido’s photography (mostly 50k). Boggs photos at start/finish. October 30, 2010. The races start at 8:30 am. Runner check-in will be available from 6:30 am to 8:00 am on race day and between 5 pm to 8 pm on October 29th at the Boggs camping area. Extremely well marked routes. Prizes for other categories.

The course is quite pretty, lots of young pines, with a couple miles of older growth alongside a creek. The single track sections are fantastic. Thick piles of needles. Boggs Mountain Trail Races. 124; Comments RSS. Majority single track with a plush carpet of pine needles and remainder fire road. Entirely runnable with rolling hills totalling around 4,400 ft elevation gain for the 50k and 2,200 ft for the 25k. The 50k will complete an outer loop first and then an inner loop. The 25k will just follow the inner loop. Junction of Jethro’s Trail and Road 300. 25K – mile 5.7 (A.S. #1). 50k – mile 10.3 and 21.3 (A.S. #2, A.S. #4). Junction of John’s Trail and Road 600.
