Effective Violin Practice (Part 2). November 26, 2012. Posted by Elizabeth Devereux. Our brains are such sponges before we hit the age of 12 or 13 that we should be sure to use our spongey brains to sop up helpful info! We must be sure that we do not go on autopilot in our learning, whether it’s while reading a novel, st...

For the musically curious. For Students & Parents. Upcoming Concerts, etc. For Students & Parents. This blog is FOR YOU! Sometimes I will ramble on about things that don’t interest you at all in my posts, but the primary purpose of this blog is to be a resource for current violin students (of all ages), and their parents. Everyone who plays, has played, or has heard someone just starting to play the violin knows that IT’S HARD! That comes with learning a musical instrument. December 2, 2012 at 7:07 pm.

For the musically curious. For Students & Parents. Upcoming Concerts, etc. Posted by Elizabeth Devereux. This is a just a sampling of some of my favorite violin music. I suggest some specific recordings, but also more generally violinists whom I admire and pieces that are important to hear. This is (thankfully) by NO means an exhaustive list! I encourage you to listen to different recordings of the same pieces and to various artists in order to develop your own tastes and preferences. Brahms: Violin and ...

Wednesday, August 8, 2007. I can't believe I will have to go back to school in under three weeks already. Oh dear me. Upon my word. Etc! F*#&$*@#. You would think that for my senior year of high school, I would, for once, actually do my summer reading on time, and not two days before the start of school. And yet here I am, and I hardly cracked the books. I am planning on auditioning for PYO. With the best musicians my age. It would be just like All-State Wind Ensemble every single week! Sadly enough a lo...

Welcome to my website. I hope this site gives you a window into my life. Just before becoming a mother, I was an attorney in Massachusetts at Clark, Hunt, Ahern and Embry. Now, the light of my life, and my full time job, is my daughter Rebecca. While the weekdays are spent playing with Rebecca and taking care of the home, the weekends are for traveling, exploring, hiking, playing, and generally having a great time with my family. Since I've been home, I've enjoyed baking and decorating cakes.
