Have written a novel, well have attempted to write one. A bit of a ripping yarn about the goings on in an English Village with a salty nautical tang. It's an enlightening exercise, this writing novels business. You suddenly become the king of the castle having complete control of all your characters. You can even control the weather and get. In the 1950's Roger owned a vintage Bentley and produced a strip cartoon of a Bentley character, Basil. It was syndicated to a number of newspapers, the Manchester Evening Chronicle, the Sunday Chronicle and the Sunday Empire News, all of which are no longer produced. During this time Roger presented a Basil Annual to W. O. Bentley the car's founder.

If your interested in old ships and things this little film might be of interest.Over the last few months have been doing a few trips on an old coaster, the ‘J. Jackson Grundy’ skippered by a friend Stuart Wood, carrying 450 tons of grain from Liverpool docks, up the Mersey River, along the Manchester Ship Canal and up the narrow River Weaver to Frodsham in Cheshire. We never realise what it entails just to make that simple loaf of bread! A bit shaky but interesting.
