Have wheels will spin. Monthly Archives: November 2010. How it all began…. November 30, 2010. I have long been a keen crocheter, and can often be found curled up of a winter evening with one project or another on my lap. Anyway, many of the attendees bring their own spinning wheels and create the most beautiful hand-spun yarns you can imagine. And so my interest was sparked.

Have wheels will spin. How it all began…. My first choice of fibre →. My first foray into spinning. December 2, 2010. I inherited this beautiful Ashford Traditional Wheel. It hadn’t been used for many years but my father-in-law – the type of guy who can fix or make anything – restored it for me and turned some spare bobbins on his lathe. I had never used a spinning wheel prior to getting this Ashford, and at first had trouble even making the wheel go around! I borrowed a fantastic book from the library.
