The life and times of someone trying to be someone. Sunday, March 17, 2013. Venezuela Series: Barquisimeto, week 2. I just completed an indescribable week in Barquisimeto. I'll try to describe it anyway. Fair warning: this will be a long entry. Panorama of Santa Rosa's square. Mao was a great addition to the Santa Rosa horn team. He also gave me the necklace I'm wearing in the photo below. Thanks to Carlos for grabbing this shot! On Tuesday, I did something I never thought I would do: learn to read brail...

figuring it out: Keep it Simple

http://rachbrakes.blogspot.com/2013/07/keep-it-simple.html

The life and times of someone trying to be someone. Monday, July 29, 2013. People ask me how I get up at 5 every day. I say, 'I set my alarm for 5am and then I wake up'. It's that simple.". What if I kept it that simple? I know that there are more pros than cons of getting up when I intend to. I'll feel better about myself, and I'll actually have a fighting chance of getting the day's tasks completed. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

http://rachbrakes.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html

The life and times of someone trying to be someone. Tuesday, September 17, 2013. Music and Memory: For Andrew. I spent the last two days playing with Orchestra Kentucky, sitting in my 4th horn seat. This is a great regional orchestra in Bowling Green, drawing musicians from Lexington, Louisville, Owensboro, Nashville, and Evansville (and more places, I'm sure). Among other fun works, last night's performance included Modest Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition. Which was one of Andrew's favorite songs.

Just another WordPress.com site. Getting Started 1 – Preparing your Images. Before preparing the silk screen, you must first decide what you want to put on it. Photo sensitive emulsion is used to project your design onto the screen and this fades with time. So its better to prepare eveything you need before the exposure process. Black and white print outs of each element. You can use the computer or hand draw your designs. Print onto acetate - use two layers. Before we expose our images to the screen, we...

Six Degrees: Social Networking and Business

Sunday, December 9, 2007. I had a phone interview this week with a company for a consulting job. To be fair, this company is not an IT company, they are more situated in accounting, but I was interviewing with their IT department. My interviewer asked me about my semester and this class came up. If you are working in computers and technology, then wouldn't one of the most popular networking sites pop up on your radar sooner or later? Does this surprise anyone else? Although, I will say I was happy to fin...

Dancing through inky dreams | Trying to write out my heart until it makes sense

Dancing through inky dreams. Trying to write out my heart until it makes sense. April 12, 2017. Mdash; Leave a comment. A dove paused mid-flight. As the blood courses, monsoon-like through its veins. Who knew paper skin crumpled like that,. Wrists laid bare, a rain dampened leaf. We thought the lips were a prayer,. The beginning of it all. We offered everything as a sacrifice. Still a monsoon in his ears,. The language of thirst,. Of empty ocean floors. This entry was posted in poem. February 3, 2017.
