I am currently studying at the Tropical School of Medicine and Hygiene in Liverpool for three months as part of preparation for travelling in January to Uganda where I will work for six months as a doctor in Kiwoko, a rural mission hospital. There could have been no better way to welcome in 2016 than walking with our torches onto a deserted beach at midnight and being greeted by the Aurora Borealis, the stunning reflecting moon, and an infinity of stars so much awe and thankfulness.
