Ground Breaking | The Lifestyle Carpenter

Building a life in Bismarck, North Dakota. It seems like it’s been FOREVER since we started talking about building this house, and now it is actually happening! I can hardly believe it. I don’t even remember when we had our first meeting with Hallmark Homes, but it must have been at the end of April. At every meeting we would make predictions about when the digging would start. I think we said “Oh, there should be a hole in the ground by the beginning of June! This entry was posted in home building.

Building a life in Bismarck, North Dakota. Before the last week of May I had only a vague understanding of what a kettlebell was. I knew it was a weighted ball with a handle on top. Coffee and Canasta | The Lifestyle Carpenter

Building a life in Bismarck, North Dakota. I’m crazy for coffee. I love it. In all sorts of forms. I love hot coffee, iced coffee, espresso, lattes, mochas, chocolate covered coffee beans, and mocha chip custard from one of my hometown favorites, Kopp’s Custard. Anyways, today I met a dear friend, from Bismarck, who I met in Milwaukee, who now lives in Minneapolis, for coffee and canasta. Canasta is another thing that I really love. Have any of you played canasta? 8221;, I am often met with a puzzled exp...

An Indigo at work and play. Come quilt with indigo - at work, at play, and all the inbetween. Putting the Blocks Together - In Progress. Monday, June 22, 2015. June ROYGBIV - True Blue. My June #focusthrutheprism challenge was in many ways the biggest challenge yet. I did a ton of new-to-me quilting techniques. Improve sewing, meandering that looks good, binding 3 sides, literally empty space as a design element, facing a quilt instead of wrapped binding. The result was well worth it. Next - to block the...
