http://publicartgwp.blogspot.com/2015/11/community-engagement.html
Public Art in Great Western Park. So that’s my initial round of community engagement complete. It’s been fascinating and inspiring, with amazing visits and wonderful creativity. Thank you. And a special thank you to UTC Oxfordshire for not only being so hospitable and supportive of my work with their students, but for also providing space for my sessions with GWP residents. Thanks again for all your support and interest so far, and I’ll keep you posted. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Public Art in Great Western Park. Diamond Light Source: opportunity. As part of my research there will be a chance for GWP residents to tour Diamond Light Source. The UK’s national synchrotron science facility. This is an amazing opportunity to see inside the giant machine that speeds up electrons to near light speeds so that they give off a light 10 billion times brighter than the sun. After the tour I’ll lead a discussion on themes and concepts for the GWP public artwork. Window sculpture at Cornerstone.

Public Art in Great Western Park: September 2015
http://publicartgwp.blogspot.com/2015_09_01_archive.html
Public Art in Great Western Park. Rachel Barbaresi and I ran a "kaleidoscopes" workshop at the official opening of the new community centre. The process was as straightforward or complex as each participant made it, but it was nice that even the youngest artists were able to produce a variety of colourful effects. Public Art in Great Western Park. Professor Brian Cox at UTC Oxfordshire Opening. Rachel Barbaresi and I attended the official opening of UTC Oxfordshire. Although we'd already worked here with students and residents, it was still good to get "the official tour" and see some more of their shiny new facilities and equipment. Their keynote speaker was Professor Brian Cox. Location: UTC Oxfordshire, Didcot, OX11 6DL, UK. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Professor Brian Cox at UTC Oxfordshire Opening.

Public Art in Great Western Park: April 2016
http://publicartgwp.blogspot.com/2016_04_01_archive.html
Public Art in Great Western Park. I've been working with GWP residents and UTC Oxfordshire students as part of my design process for new public artwork at Great Western Park. From this foundation I've now produced three three initial sculpture designs. Rather than make a piece that directly represents any one of the great scientific endeavours local to Didcot, the public artwork aims to celebrate the “Science Vale” as a whole. Examples of cast glass artworks in my previous public artworks. At night the n...
