Living On The Edge.....: October 2014
http://su-livingontheedge.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 27, 2014. Walking in the Steps of Ancestors. Today was a glorious day, the kind of day that calls out for a long walk. So that's exactly what I did, a wonderful circular walk along the Suffolk Essex border. I walked from home down to the river Stour and along towards Sudbury,. Across Friar's Meadow in Sudbury,. And onto the old railway line. After a short walk I left the railway line and was on the Sudbury water meadows where I came across this rather magnificent grey heron. I was coming ...

Living On The Edge.....: August 2014
http://su-livingontheedge.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 25, 2014. Repurpose - verb. To alter to make more suited for a different purpose. I'm not sure when this term came into use in the English language but it's what I've been doing this weekend. I had the idea of turing it into a top. Armed with a stitch ripper I took the yoke off the top, removed the zip and green band and started to work out how it might change into a top. But the bias made it all twist so I unpicked it. After a lot of fiddling it has become this:. Links to this post. Despi...

Living On The Edge.....: April 2015
http://su-livingontheedge.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 23, 2015. I do so love tulips and this week they are looking their best. There are reds and yellows,. Top L - unknown double, top R Golden Artist, bottom L - Bright Parrot, bottom R - unknown/forgotten. And pinks and whites. All unknown except bottom right - Huis Ten Bocsh. Also flowering today is this pasque flower, I love the hairiness of it,. And this delightful little plant, which I think is a wood anemone, but I have no recollection of planting it, although I must have done. I wander...

Living On The Edge.....: A Walk with Sculptures
http://su-livingontheedge.blogspot.com/2015/08/a-walk-with-sculptures.html
Friday, August 7, 2015. A Walk with Sculptures. I love Marks Hall. I've blogged about it before. It's a wonderful arboretum with gardens and lakes not far from me, I'm a member and I go there often. Today's visit was a little bit different though as throughout all of August they have the most fantastic sculptures throughout the grounds - over 230 of them. There are sculptures that are big and in their own space,. Some stand by water,. And some float on the water. Willow angels hang from trees,. If I did ...

Living On The Edge.....: September 2014
http://su-livingontheedge.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 22, 2014. Despite all of this the garden is doing well. The new dahlias I bought in the spring from Rose Cottage Plants. Have been flowering for weeks and weeks now. In the front garden the roses are still blooming as are the clematis. But autumn is marching onward and the anemones are blooming their little socks off. Anyway, whatever it is, I like it :-). Links to this post. Wednesday, September 3, 2014. Going, Going, Gone. It was at this point that I realised that cutting the canopy o...

Living On The Edge.....: 24 Hours in.... Birthday Land - Part 1
http://su-livingontheedge.blogspot.com/2015/06/24-hours-in-birthday-land-part-1.html
Saturday, June 6, 2015. 24 Hours in. Birthday Land - Part 1. It was my birthday this week, it was a big one, and something VERY special happened. Last week I was watching Springwatch Unsprung and tweeted this:. It was favourited by a BBC Radio Suffolk journalist and I didn't think anything more about it until last Saturday when I received a message from the same journalist ( Jon Wright. Asking me if I'd like tickets for Unsprung on Wednesday. Would I! Jill, Etholle and me. I couldn't believe my luck!
