http://treasured-tales.blogspot.com/2015/04/one-room-schoolhouse-fun.html
Friday, April 17, 2015. We went on a field trip to Quiet Valley Farm yesterday. The students dressed up for the 1800's, and got to experience what it was like to be in a one-room schoolhouse. They also got to learn about sheep, wool and how to use a loom to make cloth. It was a fun-filled day! Want to see more pictures? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Treasured Tales: August 2014
http://treasured-tales.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 27, 2014. I was put in charge of the classroom job chart this year. Of course, Pinterest was an inspiration and I saw a job chart called "Lend a Hand". So I figured out the jobs, and then yesterday I had each student trace their hand and write their name in the middle. After school I laminated them all and added them to the job chart to complete the look. Tuesday, August 26, 2014. First Day as First Graders! Here they are in their new desks. Thursday, August 21, 2014. I already know of ...

Treasured Tales: November 2014
http://treasured-tales.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 15, 2014. A Farewell Fish Party! You may remember our class pet from last year. He joined us again this school year. His place of honor was on the testing table in the middle of the Elementary Learning Center. With the winter months quickly approaching us, I really didn't want to arrive at school one day and find the poor guy frozen stiff. I decided that I would take him home for the winter months where I had better control of room temperature. :-). We went all out for this party!

Tuesday, October 28, 2014. Having Fun in the Fall with Friends :-). Friday, October 24, 2014. Today we went to Strawberry Acres for a field trip - not to pick strawberries, but to pick APPLES! We started off with learning about what happens to apple trees during the different seasons. Then "Johnny Appleseed" told us his life story. After the story was over, the students were asked some questions about him, and one of the questions was, "Why does he wear a pot on his head? Hmmmwell, you never know. :-).

Treasured Tales: March 2015
http://treasured-tales.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 11, 2015. The DaVinci Science Center. On Tuesday we went to the DaVinci Science Center. It is a GREAT place to take elementary kids because everything is hands-on. You are allowed to touch everything ;-). Wow, does that make a teacher's job a lot easier! A special part of our time at the DaVinci Science Center was being able to be part of a weather program with our local meteorologist, Ed Hanna! We took one last group shot before the kids explored the fun Dinosaur room. Do you have a...
