Be Still And Know: February Way Too Long and Overdue Update
http://rachvd.blogspot.com/2015/02/february-way-too-long-and-overdue-update.html
Thursday, February 12, 2015. February Way Too Long and Overdue Update. What are the months of the year? February, March, April, May. yes apparently we will forget all about January this year. It did happen! I am long overdue for a written update about how everyone is doing - it's been, well, perhaps since March last year since I really did a good job of it. Yikes. March. He can find Goldbug faster than you! And another surprise favourite, Stephanie's Ponytail. I also don't want to bore you. Aaron is thri...

Be Still And Know: May 2014
http://rachvd.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 15, 2014. We've been in the process of THIS for the last 6.5 weeks. I'm more than ready to be done! We celebrated Aaron's 5th birthday! He was excited to receive some Lego sets and we've been listening to his Adventures in Odyssey stories in the van. We had a showing on the morning (and evening) of his birthday, so I took them to Cheeky Monkeys for the morning. They had a BLAST! This oldest child of mine is growing up so fast! Gotta love the hair style! Poor little sickie was so tired!

Be Still And Know: September 2013
http://rachvd.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 30, 2013. Peter was excited for his first day of Grade One. Waiting for the bus. Climbing on the bus. We enjoyed a picnic outside one afternoon. Reading a book with all the kids - running out of lap space! Happy third birthday Nate! Opening up one of his presents. Aaron, Nate, Stephen and I went to Happy Rolphs one morning. Why hello, duck! The kids helped Daddy wrap a birthday present for Mommy. Aunt Andrea gets some cuddles in. Thursday, September 26, 2013. Map of the USA. We've been ...

Be Still And Know: August 2015
http://rachvd.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 06, 2015. We went to Rock Glen campground for an afternoon where a number of friends from church were staying for the week. Aaron was pretty excited to find a turtle by the pond there. This poor bird and his mamma had their nest in the apple tree where our boys have a tree fort. they got peeked in on a bit more than they were comfortable with. Peonies in bloom - there are five or six different varieties here. Happy birthday, buddy! We celebrated his birthday with a pancake breakfast.

Be Still And Know: March 2014
http://rachvd.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 27, 2014. There have been some big changes percolating in our family in the last few months, changes which are exciting but also quite difficult. After being approached for an application, Mike interviewed for and was offered a position as principal at his alma mater high school in Komoka. With much prayerful consideration, he has accepted this new job and looks forward to taking on his responsibilities this coming August. It's a selling feature, right? Besides selling our own home, there...

Be Still And Know: August 2013
http://rachvd.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 23, 2013. Peter and Aaron are both excited to start school in a little over a week. Peter will be starting Grade 1 full time now, and he is looking forward to it. His reading skills have developed extremely well, and he is reading books on his own now. Writing is no longer a secret language for us as parents! And I think he will do well there. He's an observant child who is constantly scanning the ground for "treasures" and has a jar of shiny trinkets on the window sill that he adds to...

Be Still And Know: November 2013
http://rachvd.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 21, 2013. Perhaps four posts in September relieves me of the duty to post for another month and a half? We're in the back half of November now, the weather has turned cold and I'm stocking up on mittens, as there are already no less than three pairs of wayward mittens at school. Things don't get any less busy here, not surprisingly, and there isn't a lot of extra time for journalling our stories. Aaron is growing up so fast! Yogurt came out of my apple! I just did my first miracle!

Be Still And Know: April
http://rachvd.blogspot.com/2015/06/april.html
Saturday, June 27, 2015. Happy 6th birthday Aaron! One of Aaron's gifts from us was a kite, and the sod field behind us is perfect for flying it in. Only a few more days to go until the chicks arrive. so the boys thought they'd take the opportunity to sleep in the chicken coop! It was a wee bit chilly but at least they can knock that off their bucket lists. The kids and I painted Easter eggs with Sharpie markers and drizzled rubbing alcohol over them to make these neat tie-dye style designs. Blogger is b...

Be Still And Know: October 2014
http://rachvd.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 28, 2014. Ahhh, the carefree days of summer, when you could hang out on the driveway with cardboard boxes on your head. In our home, cereal hardly has a chance to stay in the box. the bag ends up in the cupboard and the box ends up as somebody's armour. And at long last, Aaron's first day of Kindergarten! He looks a little nervous here, but he's been really enjoying his time at school. Waiting for the bus. Back home again, but we're still having a home Biology lesson about ants. They're ...

Be Still And Know: June 2015
http://rachvd.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 27, 2015. We won't be able to fit four boys in the tub for much longer! With the arrival of warmer weather, we've taken the opportunity to go treasure hunting for geocaches. It's such a great way to get the kids motivated to go for walks and do some sleuthing. Blossoms on the trees. I think all this soldier gear weighed more than he does, but he was pretty pleased about it! Aaron was pretty happy to try it on as well. The boys tried out a real fire hose. Water droplet in the setting sun.
