Alberg 30: the Association
http://www.alberg30.org/Assoc
Alberg 30: the Association. You're not just buying a boat, you're joining a family. The Chesapeake Bay Alberg 30 One-Design Association is open to all owners of Alberg 30s. Yes, you do. Have to own one to join. The organization is run strictly by volunteers, keeping the costs low. In practice, Alberg 30 sailors are great for pitching in and helping out wherever needed. This communal labor helps cement the bonds between members. What about the rest of the fleet scattered about the Western Hemisphere?

Carl Alberg - 1900-1986
http://www.alberg30.org/CarlAlberg
Carl Alberg - 1900-1986. Carl A. Alberg was born in Gothenburg, Sweden in 1900. The harbor was always filled with ships and boats of all kinds and when we weren't sailing there, the family usually vacationed on an island off the coast where my father, brother and I used to race each other in small sailboats. During World War Two, he interrupted his tenure at Alden to work for the Navy at the Charleston Naval Shipyard. After his return, he designed the U.S. One-Design. In 1946, he left Ald...Who were kids...

Boat Maintenance, for the Alberg 30 and other boats
http://www.alberg30.org/maintenance
Boat Maintenance, for the Alberg 30 and other boats. One of the finer pleasures of owning a boat is that of maintaining, repairing and upgrading it. That's something that you don't get by chartering. Sailors who only charter may think they're taking the easy route, and they are, but they don't know what they're missing. It's also a bond of brotherhood. The sailors that I've known have been more than willing to share advice and the benefit of their experiences. Many have also been willing to jump ...

Alberg 30 Cruising: February 2014
http://alberg30cruising.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 21, 2014. If anyone knows the whereabouts of the Association’s Nettle Screen. Please let me know. It's a toroidal float with a fine net suspended from it. That sells them uses a picture of an A30 Circle raft so you can see what it looks like deployed! We don’t need it right now, but I would like to take a look at it and see if it needs any repair. It should be ready to go well before the medusae. Head up the bay. Once I determine its status I will post here. Tuesday, February 18, 2014.

Alberg 30 Cruising: Roundtrip to Bermuda and back.
http://alberg30cruising.blogspot.com/2014/12/as-has-been-mentioned-in-this.html
Thursday, December 4, 2014. Roundtrip to Bermuda and back. On Tuesday at 11:00, Arthur was still in the Bahamas with maximum sustained winds of 35 knots and heading NW at 2 knots – surely this thing would do what all sensible hurricanes do and give the Florida Everglades a dousing! However, by 2:00pm, our conversations with our support crew Lynne Adams and Kendall indicated that it was coming north, and all indications were that Arthur would pick up steam - damn! Good thing there was no response! We got ...
