Transitions and Walking Home For Christmas. Until about April of this year my running consisted of 3 to 5 four mile runs a week on a treadmill. The longest run I had done over the last 5 years was the Mansfield half marathon which I completed in just over 2 hours. I do have slightly dodgy knees which seemed to flare up after I had done a couple of “faster” runs. All the very best. December 4, 2015. December 4, 2015. Patrick Bauer , MdS founder. James Cracknell , great guy. The fundraising received a huge...

Spires and Steeples – Racing The Sahara

https://racingthesahara.wordpress.com/2015/10/16/spires-and-steeples

Theres a difficult balancing act going on at the moment. Trying to run my business, getting the training runs in, preping for the MdS , fundraising and relaxing is a bit of juggle. The runs have become a routine I really enjoy. During the week its down the gym by around 3-30pm and its on the treadmill for around 90 minutes, I do feel a bit of an idiot on the treadmill with my backpack but it has to be done. Not pretty but getting there. Can I say a big thank you to Claire Brennan of Polka Paperie for her...

About – Racing The Sahara

https://racingthesahara.wordpress.com/about

Several years ago I became fascinated by the Marathon des Sables, the race across the Sahara and wondered why someone would put themselves through 6 days of pain , agony and blister upon blister. Well Im about to find out, because during April 2016 I, along with a long time friend and some 1000 other competitors will be racing the Sahara. Thanks for reading and if you can help Walking With The Wounded with a small donation it would be fantastic. Blog at WordPress.com.

Train hard, love yoga and live happy. Elinor’s Big Desert Run. Elinor’s Big Desert Run. OK here goes In April 2016 I’ll be running an epic race called the Marathon des Sables. Those of you that know me will be aware that this crazy event is right up my street: 6 back-to-back marathons across the Sahara carrying everything I need on my back. I can’t wait to get out to the desert and get stuck in; but first there is the small matter or training and fundraising. January 27, 2015 at 10:47 pm. Best of luck wi...

Racing the Rez | A film by Brian Truglio

If it’s not the best running movie ever made, it’s damn sure in the fight. -Christopher McDougall, author of. A powerful journey of transformation and hope. Racing the tide | Thoughts on running, art, music, science and maybe pensions

Thoughts on running, art, music, science and maybe pensions. 100 miles one day. Don’t. Give. Up. After completing the SDW50 and vowing never to do anything like that again I had signed up for the Thames Path 100. 100 miles from Richmond to Oxford along the Thames Path. This should be one of the easier 100 milers. No demon hills to smash me. Just flat flat flat. Wrong! What is it with pensions people and silly runs!
