Oh Lord, Is There No Help For Keith Chegwin’s Son? | Raconteur Magazine
https://raconteurmagazine.wordpress.com/2012/11/08/oh-lord-is-there-no-help-for-keith-chegwins-son
Skip to main content. Skip to secondary content. For Arts and Culture Outside the Mainstream. Oh Lord, Is There No Help For Keith Chegwin’s Son? November 8, 2012. I actively worry about the future of the children growing in my fictional womb. How will I know that the world will be kind to them? How will I know that they will be given the best opportunities in life? Perpetually bald, part-scorpion, how is an imaginary-mother supposed to know? How can a fantasy-mother not worry? Nevertheless if 15,000 wort...
Crayon Factory by Axel Loughrey- Review | Raconteur Magazine
https://raconteurmagazine.wordpress.com/2012/11/24/crayon-factory-by-axel-loughrey-review
Skip to main content. Skip to secondary content. For Arts and Culture Outside the Mainstream. Crayon Factory by Axel Loughrey- Review. November 24, 2012. Crayon Factory, the debut album by London based artist Axel Loughrey, falls into this latter category. I listened to some blues, some quiet folk tracks and some indie/soft rock in between. Even the most cynical listener would be hard pressed to get bored throughout the album, the sudden switches in genre types constantly keeping things fresh. Swapping B...

Attributed to SoulStealer.co.uk (not affliliated with Raconteur Magazine). I am of course talking about the overwhelming move from traditional Goth rock, such as classics like Sisters of Mercy and Bauhaus, to the bass and synthesiser filled world of EBM (Electronic Body Music for those not in the know). EBM. Although British EBM is very mu...

Skip to main content. Skip to secondary content. For Arts and Culture Outside the Mainstream. The Wargamer: Genre, Command Level and Figure Scale. November 10, 2012. In this article, I’ll talk about the myriad genres (wars/periods/eras- call them what you will) and the influence of ‘command level’ and figure ‘scale’. Consider what period of history particularly interests you. Do you prefer pre-gunpowder to modern? Are you a fantasy fan or is naval warfare your thing? Century BC, tens of thousands of sold...

Skip to main content. Skip to secondary content. For Arts and Culture Outside the Mainstream. Record Labels Are Really Important, Say Representatives of Record Labels. November 17, 2012. The two groups, working in partnership, have released a report. On whether record labels are necessary in the digital age. SPOILER: They say yes. Bet you didn’t see that one coming. Also, Ian Curtis dies. It’s still an interesting report though and worth a closer look. Our lazier readers can read a reasonable summary.

Sunday, April 26, 2009. I had a fun time visiting Serena and Tucker. After the Midwestern winter, it was great to go to the warmth of California, plus I hadn't seen them since they moved out there a couple of years ago. Thank you both for your hospitality. I was also curious, so I took a small taste- it was saltier than I expected as well. And the winner is.
