Saturday, July 11, 2009. Fashion in the MIddle East: High Fashion Covered Up! So my Abiya is finished and ready to be put into use in the Middle East. I'm glad my Saudi friends gave me this and another gorgeous Arabian dress years ago! I had the privilege of visiting the Middle East before hand when I went to visit Kuwaiti friends in Kuwait! The fashion scene in the Middle East is most definitely high style! I really felt that I was attending a fashion soiree equivalent to the Oscars! I love coming to yo...

thREDs by Sandra: What does that mean exactly?
http://thredsbysandra.blogspot.com/2011/02/what-does-that-mean-exactly.html
Wednesday, February 2, 2011. What does that mean exactly? You may have seen some of these terms on a label for a garment, or even home textile product, but do you know what it really means? Wrinkle Free and Permanent Press. However, because of the chemicals used in the treatment the fabric tends to be weakened. So though the pants or shirt may resist wrinkling they may also not last as long as a regular pair of pants or shirt. And are typically white goose down. This was actually my first time to see cot...

thREDs by Sandra: Abaya Collection!
http://thredsbysandra.blogspot.com/2010/10/abaya-collection.html
Sunday, October 24, 2010. I've been busy finishing up a collection of abayas! I had the idea to make them out of cotton fabric which is much more comfortable to wear in a very hot and humid climate. Abayas are generally manufactured in synthetic fabrics as they are less likely to wrinkle and perhaps have some cost savings as well. However, the effect on the body of being encased in 100% polyester in 120 degree Fahrenheit and 95% humidity weather is almost unbearable! October 24, 2010 at 1:35 PM. I have w...

Monday, July 19, 2010. Baby Got Back: Fanny and Waist. If you have an over-waistline bulge. Jackets and cardigans are your friend. Avoid tight waistlines, tuck-in styles, closely fitted styles and contrasting or wide belts. If you have a small waist. If your waist is wide. For a long waist. Do the opposite. thREDs by Sandra: What's the difference?
http://thredsbysandra.blogspot.com/2011/01/whats-difference.html
Wednesday, January 26, 2011. One question I get asked quite frequently is "W. Why one pair of jeans may cost $25 at one store and $200 at another. There actually are some differences but how people value those differences vary. So what you value and are willing to pay for your clothing is up to you. If you are not going to wear the garment long, like seasonal fashion trends, than most likely a low-ticket item is what you need. Just remember the saying, "You get what you pay for".
