rainbowallotment: June 2014

http://www.rainbowallotmentblogger.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html

Thursday, 26 June 2014. The mint is flourishing. Volunteer Elaine says that the smell of mint reminds her of her Aunt Bessie's house in the Mexboroughs. Do you have a plant which evokes memories? Give peas a chance. The peas are almost ready to harvest. Can anyone recommend a recipe or do you prefer them plain, even just from the pod? Strawberries and Wimbledon; perfect combination. Wednesday, 18 June 2014. Soil, seeds, sunshine and water and hey presto! A selection of photos from this week.

Friday, 27 March 2015. A new broom . Well, you know what they say about a new broom. There's also a proverb about bad workmen - but we won't go there! Thursday, 19 March 2015. Let the season commence. It was a pleasure to be at the allotment today. We were greeted by:. A host of golden daffodils. And happy hens in the communal coop. Our signage is in place. And the kale has germinated. Thursday, 5 March 2015. No matter how long the winter, spring is sure to follow. Proverb. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Thursday, 16 July 2015. It's now mid-July and we have produced quite a bit of food for the Rainbow Houses. Newly planted leeks in front of a crop of potatoes. Broad beans continue . The pigeons didn't get all the runner beans. Red and white onions. Perpetual spinach just sown. 24 July 2015 at 09:38. Not a bad selection. Do you eat your nasturtiuns? I like a few leaves in a salad and the flowers make a pretty, and tasty, garnish. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Our Plot at Green Lane Allotments.

In the office at the back. From the street, it doesn’t look like we are doing much with the building since the nightmare of the squatter problem and the damage they caused. The truth is we are having to do a lot of the paper work again. The damage to the building made it even more unusable than before and we have had to lock the doors for the time being. We have had planning permission approved and we have been working closely with the architect on the steps forward. The story so far. I have always (pers...

One Girl Revolution

Figuring life out.one entry at a time. Sunday, January 03, 2010. I never did get around to listing some of the positive things that occurred in my life in the last decade, but while thinking about what I might list (like adopting my dog Daisy - who is a joy to me everyday - and creating and running SpeakOUT), instead I actually started to realize what creative people I have in my life. I regret that these people do not know the extent of my awe for their creativity and my pride in their accomplishments.
