My Friends Are Good Cooks. 22 July, 1978. Fay's Bachelor's Cobbler ingredients. 175 cups sugar (divided use). 25 to 3 cups fruit or berries (fresh peaches work the best). 15 tsp baking powder. Fay's Bachelor 's Cobbler directions. Preheat oven to 325ºF. Melt margarine in large loaf pan you will use to make the cobbler; set aside. Mix one (1) cup of the sugar with the fresh fruit and set aside. Pour the fruit mixture over the batter. Do not stir. Serve warm with ice cream. Page Last Modified 10 July 2015.
