Beer, Bar, Brewery: All is ago...

Beer, Bar, Brewery. A young persons perspective on the drink, the outlets and the industry! Perhaps somewhat tinged from consumption of the former. Monday, 2 August 2010. Never in life has beer been more hectic this! Aromas everyday. But, more than that, it has given me satisfaction! I can create, or at least attempt to- with relative ease- a product that so many people can't even dream of making. Most don't know the first thing about where beer comes from! Nevertheless, the amazing enthusiasm and excite...

Beer, Bar, Brewery: Chimay Blue

Beer, Bar, Brewery. A young persons perspective on the drink, the outlets and the industry! Perhaps somewhat tinged from consumption of the former. Thursday, 12 August 2010. Yesterday evening, having racked off and sampled the first tastes of my IPA (Cloudy, but tasty), I decided to begin research ahead of my next brew. Seeing as I have a Belgian planned, and that I intend to cultivate a yeast from bottle, I had an obvious choice to make: Which Belgian yeast to use? Sweet and Malty, or Sweet and sickly?

Beer, Bar, Brewery: Great British Beer Festival

Beer, Bar, Brewery. A young persons perspective on the drink, the outlets and the industry! Perhaps somewhat tinged from consumption of the former. Thursday, 5 August 2010. Great British Beer Festival. Well, what can I say! Thousands of people, hundreds of beers. could it ever be a bad day? Were exactly the same as last year. Inside, the stands had moved a little, the bars were reorganised and renamed, but everything was roughly where it had been the year before, give or take a few odd stands and such.

Beer, Bar, Brewery: London Pride

Beer, Bar, Brewery. A young persons perspective on the drink, the outlets and the industry! Perhaps somewhat tinged from consumption of the former. Monday, 9 August 2010. The thing about London Pride is, quite simply, it is my favourite beer of all time. To quote the late, great Dave Line, from "Brewing Beers Like those you buy,. If I had to select just one beer to drink for the rest of my life, it would have to be "London pride".". So, this is my salute to Pride, the best damn pint in the world. Great B...

Beer, Bar, Brewery: August 2010

Beer, Bar, Brewery. A young persons perspective on the drink, the outlets and the industry! Perhaps somewhat tinged from consumption of the former. Wednesday, 18 August 2010. Recently, I was reading the excellent Dave Bailey's views on the fastcask system being introduced by Marston's, (you can read the original here. As well as his thoughts on Brewdog advocating a "real keg" system. The advantage being it could be replaced easily every few pints as it may clog, less if the beer has actually dropped brig...

Adventures of an Alcofrolic Chap: Horse and Trumpet, Sileby
http://alcofrolicchap.blogspot.com/2012/04/horse-and-trumpet-sileby.html
Adventures of an Alcofrolic Chap. Tuesday, 3 April 2012. Horse and Trumpet, Sileby. Last week the Steamin' Billy Brewing Co opened their 7th pub in Leicestershire, the Horse and Trumpet in Sileby. The idea, it seems, is to run this similarly to the Dog and Gun in Syston. It's a drinkers pub. No hot food here. 3 cask ales from the Steamin' Billy range and 5 guests. The keg beers included Meister Pils, Blanche de Bruxelles and Timmermans Kriek on this visit. Steamin Billy Brewing Co. Tap East, Stratford.

Adventures of an Alcofrolic Chap: July 2013
http://alcofrolicchap.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Adventures of an Alcofrolic Chap. Thursday, 11 July 2013. New Brewery for Leicester? Rumour has it there's a new brewery in Leicester near Aylestone Meadows. It may or may not have something to do with Leicester CAMRA's pub of the year. Links to this post. Wednesday, 3 July 2013. Hanging in North Bar drinking Der Nord Sekt by Buxton Brewery. This Berliner Weisse style beer is a great refreshing sour at 2.8% ABV but my thirst requires a larger bottle. Just fantastic. More please. Links to this post. Just ...

http://alcofrolicchap.blogspot.com/2012/02/brewdog-nottingham-doors-open.html
Adventures of an Alcofrolic Chap. Thursday, 23 February 2012. BrewDog Nottingham: Doors Open. BrewDog Nottingham opened its doors on 23 February . We arrived about 7pm and reluctantly hauled ourselves out four hours later. So tonight Nottingham had a new bar where you could drink draught beer from Japan, the US, Denmark and Scotland plus bottled beers from Belgium, Norway and New Zealand. Even Robin Hood likes a can of Punk IPA every now and then. 24 February 2012 at 02:55. The Organ Grinder, Loughborough.

Adventures of an Alcofrolic Chap: Too Much Gypsum
http://alcofrolicchap.blogspot.com/2013/04/too-much-gypsum.html
Adventures of an Alcofrolic Chap. Friday, 5 April 2013. Too much Gypsum in beer. I hate it. I detest drinking chalky cask ale. I'm not a great fan of drinking beers that have been over hopped with T90 hop pellets but drinking cask ale that makes my lips taste salty between sips? Water, Malt, Hops, Yeast. And GYPSUM. What the hell is this doing to my body? Who knows. Certainly doesn't make my drinking experience any good. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). There was an error in this gadget. Just a few th...
