Raising Adam - Welcome to my Website!
Welcome to Raising Adam. Here I write about the things that happen to us all; the funny, the frustrating, the miraculous and mundane things that happen to us all. I like to explore God's take on it all, and apply His word to our daily situations. It just seems to make more sense when I do. I also like to write about parenting and family matters because well, I have 4 kids and a hard working hubby who give me much to write about. I hope you visit often and draw encouragement from. Tuesday May 12, 2015.

Raising a daughter in a world of pink toy aisles. Bedtime Stories…but for girls…. January 11, 2016. January 11, 2016. It was not the first time I’ve encountered it, but it was the first time it made me angry. Until yesterday I had always seen it as funny, harmless and nothing to do with us. I think yesterday was different, because it was a book, and she especially loves books. Surely they won’t get to books? But they did. A bedtime story book. A book designed to ignite dreams. Bedtime Stories For Girls.

Addison likes to help me in the garden. I showed her how to plant the peas in a nice row. Then I turned around and this is what I found. She was so excited about her work. Addison is also getting very good at opening the car doors. She gets in the car, puts on a seat belt and then tries to put the keys in the ign...

So in about 3 - 4 months, a very different chapter in our family story will begin, and we will find ourselves living in Japan. Raising My ADHD Child – From Despair To Hope
Raising My ADHD Child. From Despair To Hope. New School Year, New Challenges. August 30, 2016. It was a rough beginning. Lala refused to do work on Saturday and on Sunday got into a fight with his brother. I lost it on both days. His Chinese was definitely getting better. And compared to last year, his behavior was still better. But it seems that he developed or some of his old habits got… Continue reading New School Year, New Challenges. Raising A Dia-Bad-Ass | Kicking Type 1's butt, one day at a time
303 Grams Of Carbohydrates In That Giant Chocolate Easter Bunny. April 19, 2014. My type one child is capable of Easter candy the same as a non-type one child. Does this mean we will let him eat that chocolate bunny in one sitting? No, but he could if he wanted to. He would just need the appropriate amount of insulin = 3 units per his Insulin:Carbohydrate ratio. But that would not have ever happened even before diagnosis. Will he have some of it as well as some other junk tomorrow? April 14, 2014. People...
