Raising a Handful

Friday, December 23, 2011. Today dyed silk play scarves for the girls for half the price for Christmas. It turned out just as they said. very cool! Can't wait for them to open a box of beautiful colors to play dress up, dance with or a million other things! I made 6 of them for about $33.00, new from a place like Magic Cabin. I would've spent $60 before shipping. I will definitely do this again. Thursday, November 17, 2011. Thank you Lord for the beautiful world you created! I love this picture! Note to ...

Go pick one out." If I try to skip that part.well she would never let that happen! Thursday, September 29, 2011. I love Saturdays. On Saturdays when Paul is home it's sleep in lazy day. my favorite! Raising a Handful: February 2011

http://raisingahandful.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

Monday, February 28, 2011. I shared with you our "normal" school day here. It's changed a bit now that we are embracing our inner night owl. This weekend I was thinking about how to make it work a little better and started looking through some different books and things for suggestions. I stumbled across a couple cool ideas but really liked one suggested in the Foundations book from Classical Conversations. I really like some of their ideas over there. What do you think of this idea? We served it in home...

Raising a Handful: July 2011

http://raisingahandful.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html

Friday, July 29, 2011. I at times am amazed at how much food we go through now. I think I mentioned earlier we now spend about equal on our mortgage as we do our food! This year we are also part o...

http://raisingahandful.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Monday, January 31, 2011. This week I'm going to share with you our curriculum choices for the upcoming year. A lot of this is new to us so I can't really recommend it, just share our plans. But this first one we have used and will continue to. Our favorite privilege in homeschooling is the chance to sit for hours and read aloud to our children. As I type right now my husband is reading to the boys. We LOVE to read together. In this. This fall we will be using Read for the Heart. It's the difference betw...

Raising a Handful: June 2011

http://raisingahandful.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Tuesday, June 28, 2011. The Ministry of Homemaking. I shared with you all a few weeks ago that I was deep into the book Large Family Logistics. I am still slowly going through and gleaning nuggets of wisdom and applying them where I think the fit is right. I wasn't my normal self trying, to change a million things at once or going all or nothing (can you believe it? I slowly started adding changes and let me tell you. WOW! Here's some things that have changed in our home:. I am up early with my husband o...
