Raising Annika: February 2009
http://raisingannika.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Musings of first time parents. Thursday, February 26, 2009. This beats putting the standard baby photos and videos. There is a saying in Marathi that you can see the steps of a baby in her crib. Based on that, I am predicting a potential Nobel prize for literature sometime in the 21st century coming to the Panjikar family. Raising Annika: Sunday night blues
http://raisingannika.blogspot.com/2009/02/sunday-night-blues.html
Musings of first time parents. Sunday, February 8, 2009. Had a long weekend this time. So did Annika. For three days in a row I woke up and played with her all day. I did not say tata and walk out of the door at 9. It was party time. Both her parents at home for so long. and both sets of grandparents, and cousin over too! Is there something missing in her nourishment? I will never know I guess. Guilty if you work, guilty if you dont. Someone Somewhere Out There. Oh, we all turned out fine.

What makes me a blogger is the physical discomfort I get from knowing a terrible idea sits out there needing to be destroyed so badly". View my complete profile. Saturday, August 02, 2014. Giving idiots their due. There's this dude who goes by the name Dinanath Batra. He's 85 years old, and lives in Delhi. For roughly 84 years and some months, this chap was hardly known to anyone other than his family (and a certain Narendra Modi, but that's not important). Oh, and when the aforementioned Mr. Batra w...

What makes me a blogger is the physical discomfort I get from knowing a terrible idea sits out there needing to be destroyed so badly". View my complete profile. Sunday, December 08, 2013. Months went by, and the odd acquaintance who read this blog once in a while, would remind me why I had not written for a while. And it bothered me again. And this bugged me no end. Don't worry, this is not a post about SRT. It is about me. I think, not sure, that I was afraid, that whatever I write should be so good an...

If you had to choose between the competent - but corrupt - and the incompetent - but well "intentioned" - which one do you pick? Has the intense desire for change made us blind to the consequences of the change? Is outrage and outrageous, the only way to be noticed any more? Whatever happened to attention span?

Something horrific just happened. And needless to say, the first available scapegoat has since been butchered. It could also point out, given the significant sample size and grossly underreported tragedy called marital rape in India, no one is blaming Shaadi.com. Things I think I think. Farewell, old friend. Killing the Golden Goose. Overdoing something is such a common human tendency that Aesop was compelled to write a fable about it. However, when it comes to India, Indians and Indian politicians in particular, there is an affinity of a special kind. The immediate incident that comes to mind is the news report recently.

Wednesday, June 24, 2015. Anna Claires 6th birthday party. This year I decided to scale way back on the Birthday party planning. I admittedly did things on to grand of a scale the past 3 years, but they really did turn out to be special days (core memories, they would call them in the new Inside Out movie). Afterward we took her to dinner at Liberty Park Grille in hopes to actually see a sunset but it was very hot! Can't ask for much more. Monday, May 18, 2015. Cant Help But Love Sister. January 10, 2017 · 11:02 pm. Yoga for the Special Child. Serendipity is one of my favorite words. And life indeed is about beautiful coincidences…. I last wrote a blog in November and it caught someone’s eye. A lovely old colleague of mine from my news-desk days. She asked me if I had heard about Sonia Sumar also known as Sivakami – I had not. She just said, Well if you can take your boy to her and learn yoga from her it will be the biggest gift you can give yourself and him . Now how is yoga for a child...

Raising An Only
So I’m doing it. I’m doing that thing that people say to do living in the moment. Not thinking about the past, not thinking about the future. Thinking about now. Enjoying now and being happy for the gift of the present moment. At least, this is my daily goal; achieving it is really, REALLY hard. At times, I think I still need to dress him and offer him a bottle, a binky, and a blanket. I almost think he would take these things if I caught him in the right mood. Let’s see . . . WHY does this happen? Our u...
