Postmortem: Week Alone with Lily | Caregiver Dad

https://raisingarealist.wordpress.com/2013/08/12/postmortem-week-alone-with-lily

The chronicles of a stay-at-home dad. Postmortem: Week Alone with Lily. August 12, 2013. Just kidding. It actually went really well and I didn’t post because I was busy with work. The ship wasn’t run as tightly as if Wifey was around. Lily wore some questionable outfits to gymnastics camp that she chose herself. Hair was not meticulously arranged. More teeth could have been brushed. Less corn dogs could have been consumed. But we got along really well. Posted in Lily's Silly Stuff. Enter your comment here.

The chronicles of a stay-at-home dad. Using Bribes to Push Kids in the Right Direction. August 16, 2013. You might have seen the video. Of Lily conquering her fear of the diving board during her swimming class. That was a year long process, but predictably, once she tried it, she loved it and looks forward to that part of class every session. The session after jumping off the diving board, the teacher started using the huge water slides at the pool as a reward, rather than the diving board. I’m not sure ...

The chronicles of a stay-at-home dad. Would You Wish Your Life on Your Kid? August 19, 2013. Lily is of the age where her choices in occupations change weekly. She’ll just report out of the blue that she wants to be a doctor, a writer, or an alligator wrestler, depending on what she’s obsessed with at the time. Last week was stay-at-home mommy . The same personality flaws are within me, with one exception: after seeing my mother’s example, I was able to pull myself out once I started staying at home myse...

How to Tell when Your Child’s School Is Going Downhill | Caregiver Dad

The chronicles of a stay-at-home dad. How to Tell when Your Child’s School Is Going Downhill. August 23, 2013. Unless there is a massive amount of money involved and incredible demographics to pull from, many schools go through ebbs and flows in terms of performance and overall customer satisfaction. Key personnel start leaving in non-sensical ways. Things start falling through the cracks. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Raising a Reeve

Sunday, May 27, 2012. No, that is not a green screen behind us. We really were on a beach with white sands and coconut trees. I know I can't believe it either! Lena was sitting on the swing with Powell having her lunch, and I was inside visiting with Grandma. The next time I looked out to check on them there was Grandpa right in the middle. They don't know how lucky they are to know him. Touring the ruins in Mexico. Thanks to Martine (the driver) and Erik (the guide). Sunday, January 15, 2012. Anyway, th...

Raising A Renaissance man

Raising A Renaissance man. Tuesday, May 12, 2015. This was my BEST home school year ever! Because "I let it go.". On Mother's day I was talking to my mom on the phone and I realized that the words "this was our best year ever."came out of my mouth! I did and it was! This was my 4th year homeschooling my son and at times it has been a huge head ache! I have tried everything! Timers do not help. Yelling DEFINITELY does not help! I have to admit, at first this was hard! I had to keep telling myself. As the ...

Raising a Rennick

Saturday, July 21, 2012. You're two tomorrow. I can't even begin to imagine where all the seconds have gone. These last few weeks have been busy and changing. The way you call us mommy, daddy. Which seems to you to signify comfort not necessarily a name differentiation between your two parents, makes us smile. This is one of the things I'll miss most. The camaraderie between you and Decker, you adoring him and him.tolerating you. Tuesday, September 13, 2011. Monday, July 4, 2011. I started calling you th...
