Raising a Rucker: March 2015

http://raisingarucker.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, March 15, 2015. Dubai Spring Break: Day 6. Wednesday was our last full day in Dubai and we spent half the day in the old Dubai area. Everything that we had done so far on the trip was in downtown Dubai area and we quickly noticed that Old Dubai was a lot different! It gave us a view of the architecture and culture during the early years. It was also a nice contrast to the glitz and glamour of downtown Dubai. We started at the day in the Bastakia and Dubai Museum area. It was a pretty intense plac...

Raising a Rucker: July 2015

http://raisingarucker.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html

Thursday, July 30, 2015. Life lately has been so good! July was such a great month and we had so much fun! It started by going to see Inside Out on July 4th weekend. We were so excited to have Daddy home with us on Friday. We celebrated July 4th. Charlie enjoyed digging for worms! We had many park dates! Our neighborhood has a preschool open gym. The boys LOVED it! We went to Houston to celebrate the life of Uncle David. Before heading home the boys had a blast with Pops at the splash park. Can't wait to...

Raising a Rucker: February 2014

http://raisingarucker.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html

Thursday, February 27, 2014. On January 2nd (yes, I'm really behind! The day started with a trip to the Perot Museum with Nana and baby Luke and Charlie had a blast! That evening we had a celebration and he opened his gifts. Charlie was so excited! Closing his eyes for the big gift! It was probably the coldest night of the year on his birthday, but Dad still took him to the neighborhood school to ride and he did great. We were impressed with how quickly he learned! I think he likes his new bike! Weelicio...

Raising a Rucker: July 2014

http://raisingarucker.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html

Friday, July 25, 2014. The 4th of July was so much fun this year. The day started at our neighborhood parade! Luke wanted to be in the parade. :) He kept walking off and joining the people in the parade. He definitely had the most fun out of all of us! He then found a sucker and opened it on his own and enjoyed it. I'm pretty sure Charlie's first sucker was when he was 2 years old and it was organic! Second child is a little different! Charlie loved all the things they threw at the kids. Way to go Matt!

Raising a Rucker: Main Street Days

http://raisingarucker.blogspot.com/2015/05/main-street-days.html

Sunday, May 17, 2015. Over the weekend, we headed out to Grapevine for Main Street Days. This was our third year to go and it is one of my favorite things we do as a family! The boys are both at great ages this year and we had a blast! Charlie was SO excited! Once we got there, the first thing Charlie wanted to see was the train! He even rang the bell! After the train, we explored for a bit. The street was lined with vendors selling lots of crafts and good food! Then we found something just his size!

Keeping Austin Awesome!!!: Summer Break From Volunteering

http://caseyblackburn.blogspot.com/2013/06/summer-break-from-volunteering.html

Wednesday, June 5, 2013. Summer Break From Volunteering. This past semester I have been volunteering at a school I hope to teach at after I graduate next year. This group of 3rd graders were so fun and absolutely hilarious at times to work with and I am really going to miss them over the summer. The good thing is I will be back in the fall volunteering in a 4th grade class so I will probably have some of them again! Casey and Katy Blackburn. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Friday, August 23, 2013. VA Beach.again this year! As it's been our tradition for the last few years, the entire family (Oma, Opa, brother, SIL, and nieces/nephew) headed out to a week of fun at VA Beach. It didn't disappoint! This picture pretty much sums up how Austin feels about the beach. The second we would reach the walkway to the sand, he would take off running and not stop until he reached the ocean. It was SO WINDY AND COLD this day but Austin refused to miss a day of fun at the beach! Im terrib...

Wednesday, December 26, 2012. 1st Snow of 2012. Today was the 1st "real" snowfall of the year. :) I showed Austin, through our bedroom window, that it was snowing outside. He immediately ran downstairs saying, "It's snowing! He went and grabbed his snow boots from last year (which he wouldn't wear b/c of some reason or another) and shoved them in my face and then proceeded to wait by the deck door. MY BOY WANTS TO PLAY IN THE SNOW! Casey and Katy Blackburn. Tuesday, December 25, 2012. It was so cute!

Keeping Austin Awesome!!!: A Day of Many 1st's for Austin

http://caseyblackburn.blogspot.com/2013/09/a-day-of-many-1sts-for-austin.html

Sunday, September 1, 2013. A Day of Many 1st's for Austin. Today was our last day of swimming for the summer. The pool closes tomorrow evening with a HUGE neighborhood party so we decided to get our last bit of summer swimming in today. 1 - Austin would only stay in the tiny, roped-off area that is less than 3 ft deep. Every time we asked him to go in the deeper parts of the pool, it elicited a stark "NO! Today was a complete surprise! I don't know what got into him but we'll take it! So proud of my boy!

Friday, October 25, 2013. Pumpkin Carving with our Punkin (plus a party! We also went to a Halloween party at Austin's school. Now this was interesting! They know Austin so well now that they know that Austin has a special connection with Olguiliz and she is the one to help him through this struggle. And she did just that! It took Austin about 30 minutes to really start acting like himself again but then he had a great time. He found his Olguiliz! And she happened to be Super Woman.HA! Boy oh boy oh boy.

Keeping Austin Awesome!!!: October 2012

http://caseyblackburn.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html

Sunday, October 28, 2012. Austin was sick yesterday with a stomach bug and we had to miss his Fall Festival at school. :( We were so bummed that today we decided to carve a pumpkin (since Austin was feeling better). Austin really wanted to be involved with the actual carving. I bought this cool light that changes color from red, blue, green, to yellow. So neat! I think someone is impressed! Saturday, November 3, 2012. It's Christmas Time at the Blackburns. For the past several weeks, Austin has been OBSESSED with Christmas decorations. Over and over and over again he would come up to Casey and say, "I want tower key! So today Casey and I thought we would give Austin a special treat.his very own Christmas tree for his room! We went to Home Depot and picked one out. As soon as we put it in the cart, Austin would not stop saying, "Open it, please! Is this not the coolest room? So we are having...

Monday, September 24, 2012. Our Super Six Year Old! Austin turned 6 years old last week and we had so much fun celebrating it throughout the whole week. On his actual birthday (Sept 16) I made him homemade, fresh strawberry cupcakes and we went to Oma and Opa's to hang out. As you can see from the video, Austin was not super thrilled to celebrate but he did like his cupcakes. We went back to the House of Bounce (Austin's favorite place on Earth! Oma, Grandma, and a blurry Austin. Such a cutie pie! The pi...

Raising Arrows for Him

Raising Arrows for Him. Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.". Sunday, August 9, 2015. Sunset over the marsh. We took a 3 mile bike ride on some rough dirt/mud roads. Good workout for the legs! Taking a quick break. Heading back with the current this time:).
