Living in the Round. 8230;high desert musings. April 14, 2015. Thanks to the Dude, abiding; in two parts. Part 1. This ambivalence will not stand, man. My job bores me. Period. There is really very little about it that holds, or even hints at, anything even remotely resembling interest for me anymore never mind passion. And I realize this is not a unique phenomenon; many people find themselves in this precarious situation at some point in their work lives. Yesterday, this went by on the facebook. Which b...

Living in the Round. 8230;high desert musings. November 25, 2014. Anyways, I was trying to figure out all of the bells and whistles the first night that I got it. Somehow I did something wrong. Terribly wrong. While I am not an only child. But I digress again, I was trying to talk about my clock radio. Apparently I did both wrong. So my mom then bursts in the room to find me writhing on the floor, one hand holding my bashed in face, while the other casts about the floor in search of my glasses, all the w...

Living in the Round. 8230;high desert musings. April 10, 2014. Blessed are the cheesemakers; or Confusion embraced. OK, so that last post was a bit bitchy, I recognize that. It had been hanging around for a couple of weeks and I finally decided to touch it up and just get it out there or at least out of my head. And hey, I tried to put a positive spin on it towards the end. This makes us a three blog family right now. Littledog, helping with the “Spring” cleaning. April 8, 2014. Wait, I’m confused. It is...

Living in the Round. 8230;high desert musings. February 13, 2015. Slowly, it gets brighter. Another gem of insight from Garfield – Garfield. Some days, as the saying goes, are better than others. Some days it is easier to make that conscious choice to be more whatever, more positive, more productive, more upbeat, more hopeful. Some days it is easier to try to smile more. But not all days. Of late, I have been having a particularly tough time figuring out what day it is. Described as being controlling....

Living in the Round. 8230;high desert musings. April 21, 2015. The shoulders of giants. In response to my last post, a good friend sent me a long and very thoughtful email. In said email was shared personal experience and notes of commiseration, as well as a personal anecdote regarding thoughts and problems with the idea of work and ennui. Now, where to begin. Hard to pick photos for this post… so here is one of a very overbuilt outhouse. Read into that what you will. Ah yes, concerning depression. Concu...

Living in the Round. 8230;high desert musings. June 7, 2016. Well, I suppose that is not quite true. The gymnasium and adjoining locker rooms did not likely have windows and as I recall the shop classes may have similarly been devoid of immediate access to the outside world, but that is sort of beside the point. Tried to avoid both of those places anyway. I may have mentioned in previous iterations of this blogthing that I was not the biggest fan of that torturous experience called high school. Or, y...

Living in the Round. 8230;high desert musings. October 26, 2016. It better suits you. The days are getting shorter, the mornings darker. Too, the days are getting cooler, though only slightly so, yet the leaves fall from the trees at an ever increasing rate. It is a long, slow, torturous autumn. I am too used to the seasons changing at the drop of a hat, not this creeping, subtle, drawn out metamorphosis. Though very different from what I am used to, it is undeniably Autumn. Part 2: Method of Disturbance.

Living in the Round. 8230;high desert musings. March 21, 2014. The thing about coffee. I love coffee. Just ask the Wife how much coffee we brought back from Hawaii recently (best not to ask how much is left though). March 20, 2014. It better suits you. I don’t want a pickle. We’re almost there wherever there is. Nostalgia, it ain’t what it used to be. Follow Blog via Email. Enter your email address to follow this blog and receive notifications of new posts by email.
