My Story: Reflections and Ramblings from storyteller/actor. Wednesday, September 10, 2008. Well, I've spent the last week or so trying to get up to speed on how to use the internet to network and become more efficient. Wow! There's so much to learn, so much to do, and so much I don't know. I updated my address books in gmail and Plaxo. And my page at storyteller.net. Too I joined Professional Storyteller. Joined it, and sent out some tweets. Then I heard about Ping. http://storytolar.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
My Story: Reflections and Ramblings from storyteller/actor. Saturday, March 29, 2008. The best-laid plans . . . Well, I had such big plans way back last summer. I was going to write at least once a week. Hah! But what's eight months? So many changes in my life. The biggest is that I'm leaving my job as a college professor as of the end of May. I'll likely be poor (only monetarily) but at least I'll finally be able to follow my heart. Posted by Debra Olson-Tolar. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
My Story: Reflections and Ramblings from storyteller/actor Debra Olson-Tolar: October 2008
http://storytolar.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
My Story: Reflections and Ramblings from storyteller/actor. Tuesday, October 21, 2008. Last Saturday I attended a "sample class" from an acting teacher to see if I liked his style and find out if I wanted to study with him. It's been a couple of years since I've taken classes. I didn't mean to stay away so long, but my "day job" and other "life commitments" (obstacles? Several years ago, I studied with Fran Montano at the Actor's Workout Studio. Amanda) and in my first independent feature film, Halfway.

My Story: Reflections and Ramblings from storyteller/actor. Monday, July 30, 2007. Getting Started on Stories. I know the circling around, the notes, the thinking are all important parts of the process (at least my process), but I know I'd be more productive if I could cut to the chase, as they say, and just get to it! I once read an article by a writer who said that her house was never as clean as when she had an article due for a magazine. Guess I'm not alone! Posted by Debra Olson-Tolar. That's been a...

Last night was the premiere of my solo show, "Raising my Voice.". What a wonderful experience! The Found Theatre and host Laura Bosworth were amazing. I arrived to find Laura putting the title of my show on the marquee. Then I noticed the large posters advertising my show displayed in four places on the building! Person...

Raising My Twins | It's what's on my mind.
It's what's on my mind. My Kid is Special Too! I’ve heard this before. At Rachel’s schools, at the YMCA child watch. What they really mean is “Parent: YOU need to work on that. We think your kid is lacking in the one skill she needs in school: compliance with adult instructions.” (Notably I’ve never experienced this attitude from the two excellent speech therapists she’s worked with at her Special Education school.). Thing is, beyond comprehension, beyond introversion, she is also very independent-minded...

A tribute to my long-suffering husband. Because after putting up with two kids, a grandmother, a niece, two dogs, four cats and a chinchilla (we'll talk about it later, honey), the last thing he'd want me to do is write about it…. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. September 30, 2014. Anyway, I’m sitting in a restaurant down in Siesta Key deciding on a beer when my husband texts me.
