The Folding Bike Blog. The continuing adventures of an ordinary bloke on a folding bike. Friday, 19 June 2015. It's been a while but I'm still here and still using the trusty Dahon to get around. I'm loving the warn sunny weather and light evenings just now too. Just by way of getting back into the habit, here's a pic of my bike at the station on the way home this evening. Or at least there will be when I find a decent mobile blogging app! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Alistair Humphreys' website and blog.

Over the last year or so I've been on a project at work which required four or five full days in the office. As a result, despite the routine, I've been banging in the miles on the bike to my great delight. Monday morning: Drive down to Dorset with folding bike, cycling gear and all of my work paraphernalia in the car boot. Tuesday afternoon: Drive home.

Since then he has been on, and written about, many other adventures - lots of which are described on his website. Inspired by...

http://foldingbikeblog.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
The Folding Bike Blog. The continuing adventures of an ordinary bloke on a folding bike. Saturday, 29 December 2012. Just for the sake of it. I use my bike a lot for commuting but, as the days are so short at the moment and weekends busy, don't manage to get out recreationally as often as I'd like to. Yesterday however, necessity got the better of my laziness/weakness and so I put on my cycling gear and went out for a ride. Yes, it was wet. Yes, it was windy. Yes, I had a brilliant time! To crown it all,...

The Folding Bike Blog. The continuing adventures of an ordinary bloke on a folding bike. Wednesday, 1 October 2014. A night in with the spanners. A couple of weeks ago, my much anticipated shiny new drivetrain parts arrived. Once the younger kids were in bed, and my wife was happily ensconced with the TV and a brew, I set to work on the upgrade. I’ll apologise in advance for the poor pictures but in my defence:. They were taken on a Blackberry (not usually the mark of quality photography). Usually, this ...

The Folding Bike Blog: June 2014
http://foldingbikeblog.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
The Folding Bike Blog. The continuing adventures of an ordinary bloke on a folding bike. Saturday, 28 June 2014. I knew it had been a while but over six months? I've been busy but the Dahon is still going strong and I'm putting in between 70 and 120 commuting miles each week. I did have to replace the front wheel after the rim wore through (! But after 7,000 miles I don't think it owed me anything. And a replacement was a princely £25 for the genuine Dahon article. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

http://foldingbikeblog.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
The Folding Bike Blog. The continuing adventures of an ordinary bloke on a folding bike. Tuesday, 19 February 2013. This evening, for the first time in a long time, I left work under clear skies with the sun on my back. It's so mild that my standard winter combination of skull-cap, buff, micro-fleece and waterproof is far too hot. Again, for the first time in a long time! Spring is springing and life is good! Friday, 15 February 2013. Compared to the Tour Divide. Or Race Across America,. As a side note I...
