Tuesday, June 16, 2015. We've been home 10 days, so it was time to get back into our gathering mode. This morning, we caught the early low tide to gather varnish clams and cockles. The limit of varnish clams is 72 per person, and we came home with about 130. Not bad for our first serious dig for varnish clams. We also brought home some cockles (the dark grey bivalves below). We have kept both the clams and the cockles in chilled seawater all day, to encourage them to flush out any sand in their guts.

Sunday, September 14, 2014. Three in the hand, then three in the box. Today was a calm, warm, sunny day, which is rather unusual for us. In the morning, I harvested some artichokes for dinner, from our garden box. Then in the afternoon, we went fishing in the local bay. We came home with three Chinook salmon in the ice chest. Two nice big ones, and one small jack. Wednesday, September 10, 2014. The first of the season. Friday, September 5, 2014. Hot, hot, hot. Triple digits, oh my! The first of the season.

It’s a mix of photography and videography with a little technical wizardry thrown in. It all started around 1897 when Georges Méliès. 8216; used it in his feature film Carrefour De L’Opera. It wasn’t until 1956 in Walt Disney’s nature film Secrets of Life. That time-lapse photography really took hold in modern film and television.
