A Hasty Ramble: 6 months down

http://www.ramblingoaks.blogspot.com/2007/03/6-months-down.html

Karen and Mark's blog while they are teaching in England. Thursday, March 01, 2007. It's hard to believe that it's the 1st of March and exactly 6 months to the day that we started our stints as teaching staff in Hastings. There's actually a lot of firsts at the moment: first day of spring (still feels like Australian winter) and more importantly our first day back at school after two highly stressful days of OFSTED inspections. At this point you're probably thinking "What's OFSTED? I think I've been pret...

Karen and Mark's blog while they are teaching in England. Monday, April 30, 2007. Above: The ruins of Battle Abbey. Yeah I know I am an art geek). I was blown away seeing it and I looked around the train to see if anyone was getting as excited as I was. All the commuters had their heads burrowed in books and magazines and didn't even look up- I guess they are so familiar with everything they take it all for granted. Posted by Karen @ 11:27 am. Holstentor Town Gate in Lubeck dating back to 1478. He had also brought along his girlfriend Conny with him who we had heard heaps about over the years. Lucky for us, they could actually read the train timetable and had anticipated our arrival time. Check out the lean on this one. Burgator Town Gate, Lubeck. Its a Musical Life.

http://www.ramblingoaks.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html

Karen and Mark's blog while they are teaching in England. Friday, December 22, 2006. O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree. Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year! Posted by Karen @ 12:20 pm. Thursday, December 21, 2006. Table dancing, fake hair extensions (okay they were mine), drunken stage dives, conga lines (with roving hands- oh, er) dirty dancing with your head of department oh yeah, it's just another HC School Christmas Party. and to think I'd even considered not going.

Gin's thoughts: January 2011

http://ginoak.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Been reminded a bit about how some of my family are currently miles away. So I thought I'd post some photos to help them seem closer. When I 'rebooted' I also promised that I'd post a photo of the throw rug I was knitting up in England. Well here it finally is, I finished sewing it up last year but just hadn't got posting it yet. Posted by Gin Oak. Project - Chapter 5 (The final chapter). How do these descriptions and instructions fit within the framework of unity within the body of Christ? This involves...

Gin's thoughts: May 2007

http://ginoak.blogspot.com/2007_05_01_archive.html

The irony of it all. Just earlier this week I had people comment to me that doing personal interviews for yr 11 mid-year exams was such a good idea and that they wished they'd thought of it. My comment then was that I had to sit from 1pm to 3:40pm on Friday afternoon conducting them all and they were free to swap if they wanted. most didn't take me up on it. Now, I'm wishing they did. Hopefully the voicelessness wont be too much of a distraction for the students doing the interviews. Posted by Gin Oak.

Gin's thoughts: Project - Chapter 3 (and Merry Christmas!)

http://ginoak.blogspot.com/2010/12/project-chapter-3-and-merry-christmas.html

Project - Chapter 3 (and Merry Christmas! The first roles for women identified in the Bible involve companionship with men. Eve was created to be a helper and to become joined to Adam as his wife. [1]. By the New Testament times, women were still carrying out these companionship roles. Mary, the mother of Jesus, was promised to become the wife of Joseph. The importance of this role is emphasised by the dream Joseph has that ensures him of her purity. [3]. The companionship and complementary nature of men...

http://paddytravels.blogspot.com/2007/03/going-downhill-fast.html

Because travel, like everything, is about keeping your balance. Tuesday, March 13, 2007. Well life continues as normal. I am a bit older, a bit wiser and a bit warmer. What else, what else. This week has seen a vist by the one, the only Ms. Ali and Ms. Anna (well, technically that is two people and therefore not the one and only, but you get the idea. Stop being so picky! We have had a good weekend together consisting primarily of eating and drinking. So unlike us! Why haven't you posted in so long?

http://ginoak.blogspot.com/2011/01/project-chapter-4-and-happy-new-year.html

Project - Chapter 4 (and a Happy New Year! When considering the Old Testament laws, most of the instructions that come to mind are for both men and women. Both sexes were required to keep the Ten Commandments, be holy and follow the sacrificial system. In Leviticus and Deuteronomy, many commands are given that describe appropriate sexual partners and the punishments for disobedience. [1]. The effects of these practices are so damaging that being a medium or spiritist is punishable by death. [6]. In Prove...

Doing The Tourist Thing. In a quest to experience holiday living while on holidays, I suggested doing something touristy. Meet at Circular Quay at mid-day. Catch a ferry to Watsons Bay. Have fish and chips in the park looking towards the bridge. Catch a ferry back to the Quay. Catch a ferry to Milsons Point (via Darling Harbour). Walk across the Harbour Bridge back to the Quay. Ramblings of an NQT. The ramblings of a Newly Qualified Primary Teacher. Wow, it really has been a while. Rambling 'n Yarning

Crazy, nonsensical musing while crocheting, working, and bored. Tuesday, September 16, 2014. Hi, there, amigos! Not a lot to post today, but I wanted to share a tunic/dress I recently made for my four-year-old niece. A piece of advice: Don't pull an all-nighter to make a garment when the little girl is asleep. Guesstimating measurements is really not a good idea. Who would have known? We have had a scorching heat wave in the Los Angeles area. How are you all faring weather-wise? October 6, 2013. A new Australia coach? 8212; notyalcsdrawkcab @ 8:44 pm. Is Australia another poor performance away from biting the bullet and getting a new coach? Its not guaranteed that a new coach would come in and do better … Holger is a middle of the road coach who got us to the World Cup.
