Ramblings from an English Garden

Thursday, 30 July 2015. Roses, Roses, Roses. My Roses in early July. They are resting now before their next flush. Links to this post. Thursday, 23 July 2015. A Lot can Happen in a Month. Everyone. It's over a month since I have posted but it has not been intentional. Life has been somewhat overwhelming and busy though I have kept up with Facebook - just so easy and quick on my i-pad. Added to that we have been totally remodelling our main bathroom as the previous post shows. Nearly there but not quite.

Ramblings from an English Garden: September 2014

http://ramblingsfromanenglishgarden.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html

Sunday, 28 September 2014. Polperro, Cornwall (Part 3). Continuing to walk around Polperro, this will be the last post on this particular village. Do check my previous two posts if you have not as it is such a picturesque and interesting place. I will share some interesting history at the end. Something different - a house decorated with shells. We are actually on the east side of the harbour having come down from the cliffs on the west side. I don't think I could concentrate on reading here. Make no mis...

Saturday, 30 August 2014. Netley Abbey, Hampshire. With the ruins of Netley Abbey sitting just 10 minutes from where we were staying cat sitting recently we thought it a must to visit. This monastery was founded by the Bishop of Winchester in. The impressive remains include the church, the chapter house and the Abbott's lodging. After the abbey was suppressed by King Henry VIII it was converted into a Tudor Mansion House. Ruins always make for interesting photos. The internal water spring. Having left th...

Ramblings from an English Garden: May 2015

http://ramblingsfromanenglishgarden.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

Tuesday, 19 May 2015. Busy Time in the Garden and with some New Tools. As regular followers will know, I have for some time been scaling down my garden (i.e, borders and shrubberies) in order to cut down on some of the work as we get older. This Spring I have been doing more of that and have also cut back, very hard, the shrubs that are staying. I think it is now more manageable and I certainly will be keeping all the roses, both back and front. I have acquired some new tools which are proving very helpful.

Thoughts and events of the day: July 2010

http://thoughtsandeventsoftheday.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html

Tuesday, 6 July 2010. A glimpse of England. I have decided to place a few shots of various places that I have visited in England in the past few years. It will give you a flavour of the variety of scenery you can find on a visit to our country. The shot below is of the choir of perhaps the most famous cathedral in England. This part of Canterbury cathedral was built by the Normans, as can be seen in the rounded arches. This is a shot of one of the splendid stain-glass windows. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Story of a garden, a gardener and a way of life. Thursday, September 29, 2005. Have been cutting up the blouses bit by bit whenever I have a spare moment. What was once a hideous dress is now beautiful pieces of fabric. I am about one third of the way through. I have done the most fancy ones first and now getting to the stage of "why did I want this one? Or "should I or shouldn't I cut this up? Posted by Googs @ 6:59 PM. Sunday, September 25, 2005. Weighty Thoughts: Tip

http://weightingonthelord.blogspot.com/2009/03/tip.html

Tuesday, March 10, 2009. I made chicken parmesan, First Place style, last night. When I came to add the provolone or the mozzarella at the end of the recipe I realized I had bought the wrong cheese. So my tip is, if you need some mozzarella.try string cheese. I used the low fat version and only used two cheese sticks for the entire recipe. It was perfect to fit on the chicken tenderloins I used! Here is the entire recipe:. 2 cans of tomatoes. Parmesan cheese (I used low fat, can style). Kim S in SC.

Ramblings from another southern gay guy

Friday, August 29, 2014. He was asked, "How you doing? I'm 81 years old. I'm barely above ground.". You're gonna get a ticket if you don't put your seatbelt on.". What you gonna do if they take you to jail? Throws arm up to heart and says, "Oh, I'm having a heart attack.". Did I tell you about that time they had that road block and those guys told me I needed to wear my seat belt? They told me to get out of there because they had work to do.". Just another southern gay guy. The Shrine of Christ's Passion.
