Ramblings of a college student

Ramblings of a college student. Dad’s 50th Birthday. July 16, 2010. July 7th was my dad’s 50th birthday. He thinks he’s pretty old, but I really don’t see that as old. And with the exception of the gray hair, I don’t think he looks his age! My dad requested a big seafood feast for his birthday, and he definitely got it! We love utilizing our grill in the summer and taking advantage of all the fresh food that is available right now. Corn on the cod is the epitome of summer dinners for me. From Ina Garten&...

Ramblings of a college student. Muffins and Ice Cream →. Cinco de Mayo and Mother’s Day. May 10, 2010. Wow, long time no post. I’m really not going to be following a schedule with posting. I wish I could get them done during school (I have a long break between classes), but the internet is too slow for it to work 😦. Anywho, we have FINALLY been getting some sunny weather around here! My mom makes the best beans. I’m not sure what kind they were. Some kind of red bean. The trick to real...These are one o...

Carrot Soup & Quinoa | Ramblings of a college student

https://ramblingsofacollegestudent.wordpress.com/2010/05/21/carrot-soup-quinoa

Ramblings of a college student. Muffins and Ice Cream. Carrot Soup & Quinoa. May 21, 2010. As I mentioned in my last post. The other day I really just felt like being in the kitchen and cooking up some things. It was a cold and rainy day, and what goes better on a day like that than soup? I roasted four peeled and chopped carrots. That was all I had in the fridge. Too bad because I wish I had more of this soup! Grace enjoyed a bowl of it for dinner, along with the quinoa dish I made, a fried egg, and som...

Monday | Ramblings of a college student

https://ramblingsofacollegestudent.wordpress.com/2010/04/27/monday

Ramblings of a college student. Sunday Brunch →. April 27, 2010. I am so tired. Two nights of going to bed at 2:30 and getting up before 8 is not good. But I had fun so it was all worth it. And even though I took a three hour nap yesterday and went to bed early, my eyes are so heavy! Anyway, I don’t have too many things to put up, but here’s a couple things. Pumpkin oats, raisins, wheatberries, almond extract, and a pinch of salt. One of my favorite combinations. Which led to…. We also a very good family...

Banana… | Ramblings of a college student

https://ramblingsofacollegestudent.wordpress.com/2010/04/23/banana

Ramblings of a college student. April 23, 2010. I’m sure you were all just waiting in anticipation to find out what those bananas were for right? Let me remind you…. This would be 4 bananas covered in brown sugar, cinnamon, and a touch of butter. Roasted in the oven for 30 minutes until golden and syrupy. Well, these bananas were for ICE CREAM! I came across this recipe. I melted a few handfuls of chocolate chips in a double broiler on the stove. While the ice cream maker is going, you slowly drizzle...

on a mission « THE FOODIE DIARIES

http://thefoodiediaries.com/2010/04/14/on-a-mission

I am not a glutton. I am an explorer of food.". Yesterday, I awoke on a mission. Luckily for both my taste buds and dishware this mission did not involve devising a microwaveable strawberry syrup. Nor did it involve tackling the mound of writing projects that has kidnapped me from the blogosphere as of late. Though, perhaps, it should have. And, perhaps, I should not have just admitted to procrastinating those aforementioned projects when my employers read my blog. Well, no use in crying over spilled milk.

Ramblings of a Civil War Fanatic. Tuesday, July 20, 2010. Two Looks at 19th Century Mourning. Ramblings of a College Pastor. Thursday, October 13, 2011. This is something I wrote for the OSL blog this week. Thought I would share it here! Me: Standing up on my soapbox. One of the most challenging verse in the Bible is in Daniel chapter 6 when it saw that Daniel went to his upper room and prayed to the Lord three times a day as was his custom. What did Daniel and his companions do the many times their lives were on the line? You might say, where are you going with this? Thursday, September 22, 2011.
