Ramblings Of An Average Midwesterner. Tales From The Heart(Land). December 23, 2016. On A Winter’s Eve (Day 11 Of The 12 Days Before Christmas Poetry Challenge). Gift 2- Turtle Doves. They passed by me on the sidewalk. Burrowed down against bitter cold. Braving all elemental forces. In their trek towards shelter calling. They seemed long in their affections. As she pushed in closer still. Her hand reaching out for warmth. And the comfort of nostalgia. He gently pulled together. Till they fit into just one.

Has become so adept. 30 something with midwest roots looking to entertain.inspire.and analyze the world that surrounds us firmly believing that what is inside is often much more interesting and revelatory than what outwardly appears. Ramblings Of An Average Midwesterner. Tales From The Heart(Land). December 21, 2016. To Hear Their Call (Day 9 Of The 12 Days Before Christmas Poetry Challenge). Gift 4- Calling Birds. The birds appeared outside my window. And unleashed collective call. Filled with the sweetest of melancholy. Before flying off towards distant shores. But for that moment. I knew what it was like. To commune with nature. 12 days of christmas song. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Send to Email Address.

https://ramblingsofanaveragemidwesterner.wordpress.com/2016/12/24/a-partridges-calling-day-12-of-the-12-days-before-christmas-poetry-challenge
Ramblings Of An Average Midwesterner. Tales From The Heart(Land). December 24, 2016. A Partridge’s Calling (Day 12 of the 12 Days Before Christmas Poetry Challenge). Gift 1: Partridge in a Pear Tree. So it was that near a clearing. Nestled down amongst the straw. Lay a partridge deep in slumber. Oh so peaceful was his breath. Set atop a tree of plenty. Deeply rooted in the earth. Nature’s bounty all but calling. For celebration and feast abound. But do not disturb his nesting. It deserves some quiet now.

A college education was steadily building my mental repository of concepts, thoughts, images, words, ideas and expectations. And places that were retreats became alien. June 1, 2014. I have had a r...
