I'm not dead yet!

I'm not dead yet! Ramblings of the newly retired. Saturday, August 18, 2012. England, in all its summer glory. August 18th., 2012. England has that most temperate of climates and even after the most sodden, soggy of Springs, when the sun finally deigns to shine, as it has of late, the flowers bloom in a frenzy of colour and with smells that overwhelm the senses; the shrubs and trees are so fecund, so impossibly green and lush, you feel you have to touch them to convince yourself that they are real:.

I'm not dead yet!: March 2012

http://ramblingsofthenewlyretired.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

I'm not dead yet! Ramblings of the newly retired. Thursday, March 15, 2012. I'm not dead yet! It's funny how lines, sayings, even musical numbers come to you, when you're least expecting them. So there I was, sitting in the Pelham Public Library the other day, reading - don't ask me why! Don't get me wrong, I love this retirement lark - the lack of the compulsion to HAVE to go into or start real work is very liberating.except when I feel guilty about not working, which is just about every day!

I'm not dead yet! Ramblings of the newly retired. Tuesday, June 26, 2012. Katherine Parr and all things Tudor. Sudeley Castle, Winchcombe, Gloucestershire, June 25th. We really must stop visiting these old piles, but it's become a sort of obsession; you see, there are so many of them, and each one is more intriguing than the last! Sudeley Castle was the last earthly home of Queen Katherine Parr, she who outlived the great Tudor reformer and lover! In this church, in the Castle grounds. It's hard not to b...

I'm not dead yet! Ramblings of the newly retired. Friday, May 25, 2012. Tuesday, May 22nd, Chatsworth House, Derbyshire. Fold up your brollies, put away your wellies, cameras to the fore, summer has finally arrived in Britain! Momentary glitch, corrected by nonchalantly coasting on to the hard-shoulder, quickly consulting the car's manual, deciding it was my error, earlier on, and re-starting! I quickly changed underwear, and we got on our way again. Francophiles will bristle at this, but we truly believ...

I'm not dead yet! Ramblings of the newly retired. Sunday, April 29, 2012. And now for something completely different.photos! And behold, the rains they did cease! However, this is, after all, England, so rather than counting my rays. Before they have truly hatched, I rushed out, camera at the ready, and, well, basically, shot. Here's our little home away from home - Roof Tops House. Through the winding, so narrow streets, the shining spire of the village church, resplendent in the evening gloaming:.

Thinking It Through Out Loud

Wednesday, February 17, 2010. The Sun Is Shinning. I always find I am in a much better mood when the sun is out. It's supposed to hit 70 degrees today and I couldn't be happier about it. Of course the rain is returning this weekend, but for today I'll prance around. In my skirt and ballet shoes and soak in the sun! For attention right now though I'm not really into either. Mostly because, like most - if not all - guys I've dated of late, they get clingy! Bye Think you're "hitting it"? You know, I am kind...

Well we will give it another try and relearn how to do is blog thing. Friday, November 7, 2008. Monday, July 21, 2008. Stylin' in my shades. Zonked after all that swimming!

Ramblings of a restless traveller. It was either stick with the ratrace or go off adventuring. This is the story of the inevitable conclusion. Hispanic Adventures Round II. This on it’s own is a good reason to move to Spain. Staying in London seems less attractive as I only see my life becoming bland and repetitive. Sure there are lots of things I could do but I only think I’ll end up doing the same rotations of activities everyone does, i.e.:. Creating some kind of an identity out of my career and status.

Ramblings of the Strangest. Everything and nothing all at once. April 9, 2012. I have some news to share with you. Recently, I’ve decided to change. You know how I was just talking about being self-aware and critical of our own habits? Yeah Well, in the past, I’d been considering this idea since before I wrote that post. And I had discovered something about myself that I’d never noted before. I’d like to tell you about it, because it really kinda rocked my world. This is ridiculous,. Guys, I couldn’t fig...
