A Long Way from Home | The Ramblin Ozarkian
https://ramblinozarkian.wordpress.com/about
Going the distance in the Arkansan Ozarks. A Long Way from Home. A Long Way from Home. Don’t get me wrong, I like to go pretty much anywhere I can on a bike. However, if I can go. Up a super long hill. That’s always the better choice. For me, the going gets good once I get out of town, miles away from gas stations and traffic. Nothing beats being a long way from home, out in the middle of nowhere, climbing hills. I really like climbing hills. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. There was...

Going the distance in the Arkansan Ozarks. A Long Way from Home. October 4, 2014. October 4, 2014. On Thursday two weeks ago, my climbing partner and I competed in the 12 hour competition at Horseshoe Hell. What does this have to do with a biking blog? Does it explain my time off the bike? It would be easy to say that was the reason, but it wouldn’t be true. So, let’s start this randonneuring thing (again) by being honest. Seems smart, yeah? Chugging along, but not at full steam. June 23, 2014. When its ...

Going the distance in the Arkansan Ozarks. A Long Way from Home. Coffeeneuring in Arkansas: Trip Nº1. October 5, 2014. October 23, 2014. A little creek fording never hurt anyone. Arkansas is full of little surprises if you know where to look. One of those special places lies along a relatively remote stretch of state highway. After an 45 minute drive, I parked the truck at the Ozark Highlands Trail access on AR 123. Thar be boulderin in dem hills. I feel it in me bones. Total Climbing: 2718 feet. Coffeen...
The Main Goal | The Ramblin Ozarkian

Going the distance in the Arkansan Ozarks. A Long Way from Home. Simply riding and riding more is not a good goal. It’s not specific enough and not really measurable. Riding a permanent and a permanent populaire every month for a year is both specific and measurable! Plus, it’s totally doable and it will make me a much better rider. Plus plus, it gets me out of my apartment during the winter months. I’ll be sure to update this page as I complete my goals. What’s a permanent? Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Ramblin' On | Roamin' Around in a Rock Star Bus
Roamin' Around in a Rock Star Bus. Homeless for 1 Year. It’s been 1 year since we sold our Gulf-front condo and most of what we owned, and moved full-time into our house on wheels to live the life of carefree Gypsies. No foolin’! Not to worry: here’s how we think it would have gone. So, Joe and Lisa, thanks for coming. After a year of travel you both appear young and refreshed even though you’ve been moving about like hobos from campfire to campfire, as it were. There’s no need for that. The big myth is ...

Ramblin' Over Yonder
A skewed view of the important things in life. Friday, July 08, 2005. Getting back up to speed. As my very fine friend Tim points out, I have been remarkably poor in actually posting new stuff on my blog, so, for his sake if nobody else's, is a quick recap of the last 7 weeks. Missed the Big Wu Family Reunion. And visited the family in England. Instead. ( bad call). Some things never change). With the family. (good call indeedy). Celebrated our wedding anniversary at the NWSS. Got irritated by work.
