Is pushed aside and he only keeps her to cook, clean and take care of the kids. This monster he has become belittles O- lan. And discourages, and yells at her every chance it gets. It takes away everything from her and shows no feeling or emotion towards her. "Wang Lung was restless and he avoided the eyes of O- lan. And makes her feel bad about herself.
