Hiring our facilities and booking a Pony Party. Big Arena for Hire: 20m x 60m. Book for 6 hours and receive 2 hours free! 8hrs) : $150.00. Book for 3 hours and receive 1 hour free! 4hrs) : $75.00. Maximum of 2 riders only : $25.00. Hireage of the arena includes the use of the classroom, kitchen and toilets. Please remove all manure from the arena when finished. We also have a smaller covered arena available. Price on application. Two stables and 9 stalls. 1000 per night per horse. 1000per person per night.

We are a not-for-profit organisation that provides services to disabled children in the Whangarei area. There are 7 paid staff – Operations Manager, Head Instructor, Horse Manager, Stable Manager, an Instructor, Instructor/handyman and a groundsman. Our herd of 13 horses which the RDA owns consists of minis right through to Lofty our largest horse who is 17.2 hands high. They range in age from 7years to 25 years old. Some parents/caregivers/schools are unable to pay the fees for a term for a lot of reasons. We never want to have to stop one of our riders from riding because no one can pay for their fees. Our horses are the champions of the RDA. Without them there would be no Riding for Disabled. All our horses go through a rigorous trial period to ensure they are the best horses for the program. We give them the best possible care and living environment, both mentally and physically. All the horses get holidays to ensure they are happy in their job. In the late 1970s the Whangarei Group Riding for the Disabled Organisation began. The group moved many times before finally settling in the Barge Show Grounds, Maunu in 1994.
