Is a MULTISENSORY APPROACH that begins by taking the instructor through 26 activity- packed, beautifully illustrated. SOUND LESSONS. Much emphasis is put on learning to write the sounds at the same time the child is learning to recognize them. After only five sounds are introduced, the child begins reading and writing small words that are phonetically based!

Lorelea Hayden taught in the elementary schools in Eugene, Oregon for 31 years. Twenty of those years were spent teaching kindergarten and first grade. During that time she noticed a strong desire on the part of many parents to assist their children with reading, but a lack of available materials for them to do so. Upon retiring, she wrote this book using all the techniques she, herself, had found successful!

readandwrite2live | a blog about books, writing and life…and how they all connect
A blog about books, writing and life…and how they all connect. Books I’ve Read. L’Chaim…To Life! April 30, 2016. April 30, 2016. Yesterday, I found out that Scott has Stage 4 cancer. Now Scott’s name has been added to my prayer list. I keep the list on a small square of bright yellow paper, under the base of my bedside lamp. It holds the names of people I know who are going through difficult times, illness, family crises, deaths of loved ones. I try to hold them all in my thoughts for a...For the longest...

Read, Write, Live
Read, Write, Live. NaNoWriMo. Peculiar word, isn't it? It stands for National Novel Writing Month. This November, I am joining the ranks of the insane and writing a novel. Yes. An entire novel. Written in a month. Because clearly I'm insane. (Let's see how many times I can use the word "insane" in one post, shall we? Original image by mkreyness. Used under a creative commons license. Writing Stories by Sally
Writing Stories by Sally. Reactions to My First Maker Faire: Part 1 From Skepticism to All In. April 10, 2017. April 11, 2017.
