Reading, Writing, Rock Climbing

Reading, Writing, Rock Climbing. A blog about climbing and life. Wednesday, May 16, 2012. Did I mention that I'm in Boulder, Colorado now? Probably not. But anyways, here I am in another public library, wondering when I'll start getting paychecks from the job that I don't have yet. Yeah, I need one. About the Flatirons: When I arrived in Boulder late Sunday evening I met up with Eric Chastang. He insisted that we go free-solo an 800 ft route named Freeway. It was pretty bad-ass. With a sting of nice weat...

Reading, Writing, Rock Climbing: September 2010

http://www.readingwritingrockclimbing.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html

Reading, Writing, Rock Climbing. A blog about climbing and life. Thursday, September 30, 2010. I've gone back and reread some of my older posts. My writing, though improving more as I wirte, is still shy of what I think is "good.". If my writing ever seems rushed, that's because it is. I've been living out of my tent, when I have internet access I don't wan't to spend my time updating, and so I force out some tid-bit or story without ever proof-reading. Nor am I aiming for beautiful prose. Even though I'...

Reading, Writing, Rock Climbing. A blog about climbing and life. Friday, December 31, 2010. It's that time of year where people decided that they need a "New Years resolution." As if New Years actually signified anything more than another reason to have a huge party. It's a day. That's all. We celebrate the day as it is based on Roman calendars, but it's doesn't really signify a whole lot beyond that. IT has no deeper meaning. The Iron Man Traverse V4, Junior's Achievement V8. There may also be some prob...

http://www.readingwritingrockclimbing.blogspot.com/2011/02/hometown-crags.html

Reading, Writing, Rock Climbing. A blog about climbing and life. Saturday, February 5, 2011. I tell people that Syracuse is a climbing dead-zone. The closest climbing is in a gym about and 1.5 hours west in Rochester. Outdoors? 3 hours to the Gunks, or 3.5 hours to the 'Daks. Is it any wonder why I don't want to be here? While floating around Kentucky, I flipped through Eric Chastang's copy of Rock 'n Road. Surprisingly, there was a star right over Syracuse on the map of NY. Then Tim most likely went to ...

Reading, Writing, Rock Climbing: One Year Later

http://www.readingwritingrockclimbing.blogspot.com/2011/06/one-year-later.html

Reading, Writing, Rock Climbing. A blog about climbing and life. Wednesday, June 15, 2011. It turns out that today, exactly one year ago, Chris Deck and I left his home in Buffalo, NY at 6am to make the Early Bird Special at Amy's Place diner. Promptly after finishing breakfast, we began out nine-hour trek to Slade, KY to climb in the Red River Gorge. Holy fuck, what am I thinking. After some deliberation I decided to keep going at it. I met Al last year as well. Despite our (mostly mine) foolishness...

Reading, Writing & Ruminations | For the Positive Thinker

Reading, Writing and Ruminations. For the Positive Thinker. December 18, 2012 by rwruminations. Ok, maybe this is not politically correct, and some will disagree with me; but I have to say I love Christmas music. One of my favorite memories of college was my sophomore year, when there was a sing along at our student center just before our holiday break; and my friend Janet and I belted out “The 12 Days of Christmas” along with dozens of other students. (I can still name all 12 gifts). My favorite songs t...

Just another WordPress.com site. October 15, 2012. New York Comic Con 2012. Boy was that one amazing weekend! Tiring, crowded yes, but fun. I have to say, I’ve never been to a conference of such magnitude where I drove in every day rather than staying at a local hotel. It didn’t make any sense. However, the weather was fine, if not a bit nippy, and it was a good day to be on the water. Not to mention the view going over on the ferry is spectacular. Shopped some. Found Blakes 7 on DVD along with Conti...
