戰國年表 上 Ver1.03. 戰國年表 下 Ver1.03. 2012 年 10 月 17 日. 此時毛利弘元在兩大勢力的壓力下，竟宣佈讓位予年僅九歲的長子毛利幸千代丸 興元 ，離開郡山城前往次子毛利松壽丸 元就 的猿掛城退隱。 天文三年 公元1534年 改為從屬大內義隆，天文六年 公元1537年 以長子毛利隆元為質，以示對大內義隆的忠誠。 天文九年 公元1540年 九月，尼子詮久 晴久 率領三萬大軍進攻毛利元就主城郡山城，卻被毛利元就聯同大內義隆家臣陶隆房 晴賢 以寡擊眾打敗，之後毛利元就更在翌年五月攻陷武田信實的武田銀山城，武田信實逃往出雲，安藝武田氏正式滅亡。 毛利元就為了擴展實力，於天文十三年 公元1544年 以三子又四郎 隆景 過繼給小早川興景，繼承竹原小早川氏。 不久於天文十九年 公元1550年 毛利元就實踐三年前約定，以次子又次郎 元春 過繼給吉川治部少輔興經繼承吉川氏 小早川隆景亦繼承沼田小早川氏，令毛利氏實力進一步增強。 天文二十三年 公元1554年 春，毛利元就與陶晴賢斷交，與石見的三本松城主吉見正賴同盟對付陶晴賢，又用反間計使陶晴賢殺死猛將江良房榮 興房。
