Pic by Jill N. Hamilton-Krawczyk]. My weekend life 👍 (at books books and more books 😍). I work for books anyway. These are pretty cool. I'm a part-time writer who also loves reading (all kinds of genres), movies, music, and long discussions about meaningful topics with my friends over several glasses of wine. Graham Greene’s Twenty-One Stories. Is a wide collection of short stories; some of the themes include temptation, compassion, fear, pity, violence, salvation, and betrayal. The more popular story in this collection is titled “The Destructors,” mentioned in the movie Donnie Darko. See clip above). This story, about a group of teenagers who destroy an old man’s home merely for the sake of destruction, is a shocking depiction of the potential darkness of the human condition. Thursday, March 7, 2013. News from the garden: The beginning of the madness! Our seeds arrived in the mail a few days ago. Can you tell how excited I am? We bought 2 types of marigolds to keep out the bugs. As a result, these seedlings sit atop my craft table. They have taken over my craft room, just as I found some motivation to start crafting. I can't wait for the warmer weather and when we can transplant them into the ground. Meanwhile, the hardworking husband has tilled the land in preparation.

Saturday, October 27, 2012. News from the garden: Fall Surprises! Here's the last round of harvest from the summer crop before we cleared it for the fall garden. Did I hear someone say baba ghanoush. Here is another surprise. We had strewn some marigold seeds last summer. Nothing ever came up, until this spring. And then it was only a wee flower struggling to survive amongst the other towering plants. In a blink of an eye, that lone marigold grew and blossomed into this:. Isn't Mother Nature amazing?
