May | 2012 | relics and dust

The inane musings of a Fine Art graduate. That Belongs in a Museum! May 24, 2012. So do you, Dr Jones…. Ah, Indiana Jones. Responsible for making archaeology seem fun, and causing much disappointment to hopeful young archaeology students when their artifacts don’t make people’s faces melt…. In reality, historical artifacts are very different to how old Indie depicted them. As I have been finding out whilst working at Usk Rural Life Museum. Here’s what it looks like at the moment:. May 15, 2012. Is it tim...

The inane musings of a Fine Art graduate. The joys of needle felting. September 7, 2012 1 Comment. I have recently discovered needle felting, and honestly how did I ever do without it? It it definitely the most satisfying pasttime, and you can do it whist watching tv (with the added danger of seriously stabbing yourself, but hey). So far I have made about ten or so animals… only another 299,999,990 to go…. Here’s some pictures. And the tapir with her baby. The joys of needle felting. You are commenting u...
English Spot Rabbit | relics and dust
https://relicsanddust.wordpress.com/2012/09/10/english-spot-rabbit
The inane musings of a Fine Art graduate. September 10, 2012. I was at Usk Show the other day, and happened to be looking at the rabbits. I fell in love instantly with most of them, but I think the English Spot breed was my favorite. Alas, with eight guinea pig mouths to feed already, I have not the room for a rabbit (and of course it wouldn’t be one rabbit, as I’d have to get it a friend) so I settled with the next best thing; I needle felted myself my very own english spot! The inane musings of a Fine Art graduate. May 12, 2012. Today was my Dad’s birthday, and in keeping with tradition I made him a birthday card:. There is a story behind this picture. A hilarious anecdote in fact (strictly speaking that may not be quite true, as I’m not entirely sure what counts as an anecdote). A few months ago I thought it would be nice to get some guinea pigs. I always liked guinea pigs, they have silly hair. I like that. And that, I thought, was that. How wrong I was. Regardless of tha...

The inane musings of a Fine Art graduate. September 16, 2012. Well Well well well. Tomorrow I start my Theatre Design Masters. I should really be getting ready, preparing and all that. Feels a bit like going to school for the first time! I should have my pencil-case ready, all shiny and new. Instead I have been making monsters. I started with an illustration of what I thought she might look like:. The heads were then sculpted from chicken wire and paper mache. 8230;and then paper mached over the top.
