Project District: March 2013
http://projectdistrict.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 1, 2013. Thesis is finally over and it feels so good to be done! I know everyone is eager to see to the final product, but I'm still tweaking the actual fly through of my scene. I do however, have some wonderful stills of various parts of the train station as it currently is in UDK. The Train Tracks with McQuinn above and the giant doors of the Gatehouse ahead. A close up of McQuinn's Sign. An overhead shot of what the train station looks like. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Conquering the world, one pixel at a time. Thursday, April 28, 2011. Imagine RIT Ad #2 Done! Today the second ad for the Imagine RIT contest that I won was released. Who is generous enough to offer it for free - perfect for this nonprofit event. Definitely check him out! Can you find me in the background of one of the shots? Hint - I have a red shirt on :). I am a bit overwhelmed by the amount of stuff I have left to do this quarter. I know I'll get it all done, though. My infinite to do list:. To take a...

Project District: Winter Week 1: Normal Baking Chaos
http://projectdistrict.blogspot.com/2012/12/winter-week-1-normal-baking-chaos.html
Wednesday, December 5, 2012. Winter Week 1: Normal Baking Chaos. During my research I found that this was not something that everyone included in their workflow, so it wasn't entirely clear to me as to whether it was something I would absolutely need to do or not. There were however, several smaller objects in my scene where I would need to bake down geometry. Several of the windows in my scene had details that I felt that could be baked down and done mostly through textures. 2h 27m : Normal Baking.

Conquering the world, one pixel at a time. Saturday, March 26, 2011. Production Pipeline Update #5. Whew, big update! I worked on this a lot today. I'm really trying to be precise and keep all the surfaces as smooth as possible. These are pictures of the model unsmoothed (I'm actually happy with how it looks unsmoothed, wondering if I will smooth it at all.) Excluding the grilles, I'm at 8,000 tris right now. Project District: Fall Week 7- Intensive Modeling
http://projectdistrict.blogspot.com/2012/10/week-7-intensive-modeling.html
Tuesday, October 23, 2012. Fall Week 7- Intensive Modeling. Once again I spent the week modeling. I added in a lot more of the details in terms of what I need for the profiles of the various pieces, and overall the scene feels a lot more complete. I'm really hoping to push through the last phases of the silhouette pass modeling this week so that I can start putting the level together in UDK and then switch gears to UVing in prepartion for next quarter. 0h 30m Gnoman Disk. 1h 00m Rendering and Set-up.

Conquering the world, one pixel at a time. Thursday, January 27, 2011. Lots and lots of tweaks. I just can't decide how I feel about this fishier, cartoonier version. I need to let it sit for a while, maybe get some opinions from people. Monday, January 24, 2011. I decided to go ahead and make a Work-In-Progress thread on the terrifying shark tank of a forum that is CGSociety. Http:/ forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php? Saturday, January 22, 2011. Friday, January 21, 2011. I'm trying to toe the line of a...

Wednesday, November 7, 2012. Fall Week 9: UVs and Exporting. Anyways, here're a few of my UV maps that I did this week. I have UVed 102 objects so far, and have roughly somewhere between 20-50 left. And here's a picture of what some of it looks like currently in UDK:. The lights haven't been baked, this is the preview version and so it doesn't look terrible here. 4h 15m UV and Exporting. 2h 36m UDK Importing and Layout. 3h 06m UV and Exporting. 7h 00m UV and Exporting. 2h 00m UDK Importing and Layout.
