spring walk - Lilys House
http://lilupix.typepad.com/lilyshouse/2011/03/spring-walk.html
March 21, 2011. What a glorious weekend! We all took a walk out in the sun, away from the chores and comparative gloom of the house. It really was beautiful, even Harry pranced about like a puppy. And the girls put blossom in their hair and put their sisterly bickering aside. The tide was out and the dogs had a lot of fun frolicking in the mud (! This is looking down the Teign estuary towards Teignmouth and the open sea. We had to cover Wilfs eyes with a coat so he wouldn't bark :). 21 Mar 2011 16:25:22.

Monday, 25 October 2010. It's been a while (again, I know! But great news - I have finally written up the pattern for the Naomi Scarf. After lots of very flattering requests for it on Ravlery. Since I added it to the Ravelry database last night, it's already in 18 queues - how lovely! I am really looking forward to seeing all the different versions everyone makes in different colours, yarns, etc. You can also find the pattern in my Etsy shop. Here are the links:. Naomi Scarf on Ravelry. Hope you like it!

http://allergictowool.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Monday, 16 April 2012. So yes, as usual, I have to apologise for my absence! Hopefully you'll think the wait was worth it however, because I have such. Since January my friend Lydia and I have been working on something really special. It's a new quarterly knitting publication called pom pom! Here's a draft of our first-ever cover:. It's a quite small-scale, homegrown little mag at the moment, but it's full of lovely, hand-picked goodies that we hope knitters will love! And you can follow us on twitter.

Allergic to Wool: April 2011

Monday, 11 April 2011. The sun has been shining here in London, which means light, finally! Here's an in-progress shot of the shawl I have been working on for the shop. I knitted a few rows in the park after work before getting a pizza nearby on a Friday evening. Bliss! The project is the Kouyou Shawl*. In the lovely-dovely Quince and Co Chickadee. Apparently Kouyou means Autumn in Japanese, but with a yarn called Chickadee in a colour called Petal, it must be Spring! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Allergic to Wool: January 2012

Wednesday, 11 January 2012. The Joys of Cold Weather. I'm a sunshine kind of girl. I have the kind of skin that benefits from sitting on a beach (I never burn, even without sunscreen), and I'd happily wear flip flops for the rest of my life if I could. I can think of nothing better than spending my time outside in the heat, until I can bear it no longer and jump into the nearest body of water. Having grown up in Virginia, where you can veritably see. It turns out that keeping warm is half the fun. Are yo...

YarnSnob | I'm A YarnSnob....
https://yarnsnob.wordpress.com/author/yarnsnob
I'm A YarnSnob…. A few of my favourite sewing books at the moment. Style Stitches by Amy Butler. Seams to Me By Anna Maria Horner. Sew a Metre by Rebecca Yaker and Patricia Hoskins. Weekend Sewing by Heather Ross. Encyclopedia of Sewing and Fabric Crafts by Martha Stewart. Simple Sewing by Lotta Jansdotter (on loan to friend). First project from this book, first glance, impossible, challenging, lots of seaming, yes , lots of ironing, yes but not so good when the day is extremely warm. I was roasting!
