Western Sierra Fly Fishing: July 2011
http://westernsierraflyfishing.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
July 27, 2011. After some last minute flakes and a questionable water level, we decided to barge it anyway. 1k flows and emerald green waters. Before dropping in, I was fully convinced that Jason wouldn't have a problem paddling Stefan's 8' pontoon boat. Not that the E. Carson is a real beast river with huge white water, but there are couple spots at high flows that can make you pucker for a second or two. I asked him the day before the float. We haven't even put the boats in the water yet! Too much whis...

Western Sierra Fly Fishing: Losers... again...
http://westernsierraflyfishing.blogspot.com/2012/10/losers-again.html
October 23, 2012. Another OCC in the books and there's a new happy first place team from the biggest little city in the world. just not us. 10 teams showed this year with 50% of the cash prize pool going to first place (somewhere around $450), 35% to second, and 15% to third. The kicker. over $350 to the angler with the biggest fish. No commanding leads or tournament run-aways this year. It was a close game for all teams all the way until the end of day two. Did manage one decent fish to help the cause:.

Western Sierra Fly Fishing: May 2011
http://westernsierraflyfishing.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
May 30, 2011. It's the Meat in the Seat. Been a while, but I haven't really had a lot of chances to pick up the fly rod lately, and when I do, it's pissing rain. With weather still on the radar, the trout fishing will have to wait another week two (or three). and when is enough, enough? First cast and Mike hooks up. Four or five casts later, we've both got 3 fish to the boat. and so on and so forth. We fished a lot of cover in the Middle Fork to start and did well on the open water, but the bite was defi...

Western Sierra Fly Fishing: October 2011
http://westernsierraflyfishing.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
October 24, 2011. Back from the great white north, eh? These photos were shot in 3B. One tube, 7k worth of rods. don't lose that bag. Some serious tech rowing needed on this river. Gettin' to bidness on day one. Took me a day to break the seal, but when she went, she went. I know they say the lucky ones go to Montana when they die, but I'm pretty sure this is what heaven looks like. Chrome hunting at all costs. What does it mean? Got a little chilly goin' over the pass. Spot of tea before we move on?
