Digging in the Dirt: April 2015
http://embersgarden.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
CLICK ON IMAGES FOR LARGER PHOTO. Saturday, April 18, 2015. Saturday in the yard. Had a good day working in the yard. Uncovering perennials and already fighting the creeping Charlie. Edged the rose bed after spreading manure on the roses and the asparagus. Asparagus is already 3 feet tall if you can see it. The creeping Jenny and 'Big Ears' Stachys surprised me with how good they look together. The 'Elegantissima' Red Twig Dogwood is also super pretty. Isn't this Columbine beautiful! I love these Pansies!

Digging in the Dirt: May 2015
http://embersgarden.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
CLICK ON IMAGES FOR LARGER PHOTO. Saturday, May 23, 2015. How long does it take to may one garden bed? Longer than I thought! Although I must say the second bed is larger and I had no help. So I wanted to make a bed before heading to Chicago for the weekend. Pat is already up there. Joe is at "Summer Camp" with the truck. Rylie can't lift a block. She even tried! Poor things are getting desperate. Then of course I had to assemble the hand truck and finding appropriate wrench was a challenge. We had some ...

CLICK ON IMAGES FOR LARGER PHOTO. Wednesday, November 13, 2013. Late Frost but Early Snow! More Beautiful Fall Pictures First. Tuesday it snowed and it's still on the ground in some places. Wow. Seems awfully early for this. My new leaf blower-vac-shredder has been great for chopping up leaves for leaf mold and compost and overwinter mulch. The tree in the front yard across the street at my mom's has mostly fell but the two in the backyard haven't even started. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complet...

Digging in the Dirt: January 2014
http://embersgarden.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
CLICK ON IMAGES FOR LARGER PHOTO. Thursday, January 9, 2014. This Picture Inspired Me. I thought we need that in our front yard. It could continue the theme of the dry stream bed from the shady side yard. Plus this old plan for the future used to include an addition that Pat nixed but now that Joe's here he might not be so quick to dismiss. So here's the quick sketch. It's getting late and I can't stop pinning. Pinterest is my crack. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). This Picture Inspired Me. A Way to Garden.

Digging in the Dirt: Finally Some Fall Gardening
http://embersgarden.blogspot.com/2014/11/finally-some-fall-gardening.html
CLICK ON IMAGES FOR LARGER PHOTO. Saturday, November 8, 2014. Finally Some Fall Gardening. Here's the front yard from front door last month:. I don't think I'll plant any tall herbs around my herb circle next year. I missed seeing my Japanese Red Maple too much. I'll put the tall ones around the pool next year. Isn't the Limelight and Little Lime hydrangea pretty with their dried blooms? I also scrubbed the pool some more but then ran out of daylight and couldn't find wet vac. The Pool Post Clean Up.

Digging in the Dirt: The Pool Post Clean Up
http://embersgarden.blogspot.com/2014/11/the-pool-post-clean-up.html
CLICK ON IMAGES FOR LARGER PHOTO. Sunday, November 16, 2014. The Pool Post Clean Up. After first weekend of hauling out 5 gallon bucket full of muck. I was determined to get all of the clay dirt and sawdust and what not out of the pool before next year and scrubbed it clean over two weekends. After second weekend of wet vacuuming and scrubbing. Doesn't the deck look awesome! I filled with water half way up and then it got cold quick and froze. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Pool Post Clean Up.
