The Seven Things Project: July 2006
http://seven-things.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html
The Seven Things Project. My relationship with stuff, and my experiment with getting rid of it. Saturday, July 29, 2006. The Saturday Seven - #4. The "They're Growing Up So Fast" Edition. I was pretty late in getting myself organized to get rid of 7 things this week. It wasn't until yesterday that I got myself in gear and started posting stuff to freecycle. First to go was the Gentle Leader Headcollar. I got rid of four things that were reminders that my boys are no longer babies. I also freecycled these...

The Seven Things Project: October 2006

The Seven Things Project. My relationship with stuff, and my experiment with getting rid of it. Saturday, October 28, 2006. The Saturday Seven - #17 and 18. Maybe I'm getting more strict with myself about getting rid of sentimental things. It's not that it is getting any easier. I just seem more able to do it. It is a good reminder to me that simplicity is not something that just comes naturally, at least not to me. It happens through choice, action, discipline. And this little fleece yellow sleeper.

Good News in the Wilderness. Sermons and Reflections on the Episcopal Church. Welcomed Back into Holy Space, a Holy Place. May 9, 2016 by preacher1. Yesterday morning for the first time in a very long time I put on a blue Oxford shirt rather than a black clergy shirt. Pat and I then drove over to a place that holds memories for both of us: the church on Kent Island where I spent the first four years of my ordained ministry. If so, how? What about their welcome makes me want to be a part of THIS world?

A place to ponder the awe and mystery of God in everyday life. Beyond Question: Why do you doubt? He said to them, “Why are you frightened, and why do doubts arise in your hearts? It seems to me that Christians have often confused doubting with questioning. My first training was in medicine. In that field, like in any of the science fields, students are rewarded for questioning. Questioning leads to deeper understanding, and that is always a good thing. My most recent bike.). A few years later I married ...

A place to ponder the awe and mystery of God in everyday life. A darling little boy ready for baptism in our new latino ministry. He was one of three beautiful children baptized on that day of celebration. He doesn’t say much, but he seems to know that he is loved here. And for that I am grateful. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. A place to ponder the awe and mystery of God in everyday life. May God make your year a happy one! Not by shielding you from all sorrows and pain,. But by strengthening you to bear it, as it comes;. Not by making your path easy,. But by making you sturdy to travel any path;. Not by taking hardships from you,. But by taking fear from your heart;. Not by granting you unbroken sunshine,. But by keeping your face bright, even in the shadows;. Not by making your life always pleasant,. When an alcoholic goes t...

Prairie Light: A Mend
http://prairielight.blogspot.com/2015/05/a-mend.html
I will turn your darkness into light before you and make the rough places smooth." Isaiah 42:10. Friday, May 01, 2015. There is no future without forgiveness." Desmond Tutu. I sent off a little note to my brother today. Yeah, so what? People send off notes to siblings and other people all the time. Other people maybe, but siblings? In my history, that was another thing. In fact I once started a sentence with a group of women on a boat, "My brother, whom I do not know is dead or alive.". But over time, ev...
