I was walking back from a great performance by the Nashville Symphony when I saw a great night view of the Nashville skyline from the Siegenthaler bridge. I took several photos and knew I wanted to paint the scene. Here’s the beginning, with mostly just the drawing and the lights on the AT&T (or Bat) Building. More on this one as the week goes. From 1975 to 1978, he studied art at the University of Tennessee, Nashville. Out in the Sun. Out in the Sun. Posted on May 7, 2013 0 comments. 16 20 Sunflower with texture. I did this painting with a painting knife. That led to a lot of texture in the flower itself. I made the background quite soft and smooth, which added a lot of contrast between the background and the flower. That touch makes the piece quite dramatic. Your email address will not be published.
